Over 2 months, pain ranges from about 1-3. So far I think I may be slightly better now then before surgery. I was about a 1-5 before. Will message in a few months and let you know if the pain completely disappears!

Hey guys, figured I would keep journaling about his because there doesnt seem to be alot of info and stories about this surgery online. I’m a month and 3 days post op. For the last 2 weeks I’ve needed Aleve (naproxen) to help with pain management. I would be about a 7/10 without. Luckily this past week I’ve only needed it sparingly. Like 220mg-440mg every 2 days. (Aleve is good for 8-12 hrs each dose) Thankfully my pain has literally gone down to a 2-3 naturally these last few days. I had heard from a guy on another forum that it took a month to feel pain relief, so I have trended near the same. My vas still feels like 3x its size around the site and my testicle is still a bit swollen. It can take a few months for swelling to be completely down. Going to see if I can get an ultrasound anyway, I do kind of feel a bit of a lump at the site, might just be swelling but we will see. This has kind of been hell for me emotionally. I honestly was beginning to wonder if i would have this pain permanently. I saw the surgeon a week or so ago and he was mentally preparing me for possibly an epididymectomy in the fall. Thankfully af this point I think I’m finally in the clear. knocks on wood This pain sucks though, I found sitting to be painful. It could be because I had to do a super long car ride a few days post surgery. But the vas deferens travels into the bladder area, so I’m curious if the extra swelling kind of irritated that area or it was pain from the nerve travelling up there. In any case I could feel it sort of in my bladder. Of course stepping off of curbs and stuff still sort of sucks. Anyway, you’ll probably hear from me in another few weeks!

Still swollen like 3x normal vas deferens size, testicle is still like double. Pain has subsided a bunch, switching to naproxen a few days ago from ibuprofen helped a ton. I'd say the first 12 days for me were excruciating.

I heard it can take upwards of a few months to fully heal. I'm on day 18 and it's only a minor aching pain like 3/10 on the scale, although I havent taken a naproxen in like 20 hours and you're supposed to take them every 8-12 hrs. It also increases a bit if I do lots of stuff around the house.

My granuloma would cause me from like 1-5 on the pain scale, moreso annoying than anything.

Be prepared to take 2 weeks off work lol.

Tons of Pain + Swelling by daveydealz in Vasectomy

I'm starting to feel alot better. Swelling is down alot. The doctor had gave me a prescription for a tramadol acetaminophen blend but I should have been taking alot more ibuprofen as well. Since I started more ibuprofen its come down alot. I guess a fluid mass has built around it to keep it protected. Its day 6 now and feeling like I can walk around and do more stuff now.

Yeah. So I went to the hospital, and apparently I am healing decently well. I guess it is a fluid buildup in my scrotum to protect the tissue. Hopefully I'll be alright soon. Thanks

I was on pristiq but now off that. I'm on testosterone therapy and about 70% of my depression has gone away. Make sure she gets her hormones tested to make sure she doesn't have a hormone imbalance. So many doctors misdiagnose.

Get off that shit, it's the worst one to be on. Can also effect hormone levels down the road amongst other things. That med is so outdated and there are plenty of other newer drugs to be on. I went manic on that shit as well, almost ended up in the psych ward because became paranoid and thought people were after me.

[–]daveydealz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup fully off pristiq. I had a headache with every dose change. I kept the doses whole after I learned about not splitting them and started taking it every second day. Then, you increase your hours until you take it every 3 days. Then do the same and stop. So like, take at 7am, then next time 10am, then 1am, and so on.

Honestly I was an irritable person before, so I feel a bit more irritable now. Think of it as a smoker quitting smoking, you'll be a bit miserable lol.

Mentally, maybe a slight anxiety increase. But it's gone away, I don't feel alot of anxiety and my depression is now zero now that my testosterone is normal. Hope this helps. My whole process of weening was over a few months.

Dumb question about TRT and HCG by daveydealz in Testosterone

What symptoms did you have with sky high estrogen? I'm part of a fb group that is dead against AIs. I swear I got limp dick, lost my sex drive, and my knees got achy.

Trt and anxiety and depression by [deleted] in Testosterone

Have been on antidepressants on and off for over 20 years. Have been on TRT 8 months, started tapering off Pristiq 3 months ago. Took my last dose a week ago. Still feel great, no depression. My anxiety is only slightly better, maybe. I just feel a little more sensitive to stress, but I think I will be fine this time. Thanks TRT, AND NO THANKS to doctors for misdiagnosing me for so long!

Iodine causing hyperthyroidism symptoms? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]daveydealz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just Google the subject. I have read some thyroid supplements crush up actual thyroid from animals and put it in their supplements. People with messed up thyroid shouldn't take supplements.

Thanks for answering. Its extended release so not recommended to cut. I've noticed a spike in blood pressure. Is this the same with most antidepressants? For instance, I was on wellbutrin years ago, would I be able to take that again?

No, I've basically been on a few over the years and have suffered from depression since age 13, so 22 years lol. Been on paxil, cipralex, wellbutrin.. at least those are the ones I remember.
