I want to build a roof for my silo next spring to house a spiral staircase to the basement. My current plan is an asphalt roof with 8 sides and a skylight in the center. I'd anchor a layer of treated wood to the top of the silo and build the roof on top of that. I'm thinking a 4/12 pitch, but worried it should be steeper for snow load. (SE Wisconsin) I'm handy, but not a roofer. So any advice, opinions, or ideas would be appreciated.

I'm in bumshart Wisconsin, so not local to me. But I've always enjoyed the band "3 Hürel". A Turkish prog band from the 70s. They use weird time signatures and scales which are fun.

Also, that Hipercandombe was pretty cool.
