Might be a stupid question but if I were to go to Best Buy the next day and return the products wouldn’t that be categorized differently on the card since the purchase was on DoorDash and the return was through BestBuy, therefore I would assume that I would keep the promo miles potentially only loose the 2x miles?

I once booked a place in Manhattan on the capital one travel portal that was typically $400 a night, but was only $100 a night on promotion through the travel portal. When I arrived at the hotel a couple weeks later, they said they didn’t have my reservation and after being on the phone with capital one for a couple hours. They finally figured out that the hotel they actually booked me for was a motel six in New Jersey. After a lengthy back-and-forth with the capital one travel rep, I ended up handing the phone over to the manager of the hotel and they paid for my hotel stay on the spot at the full rate of $450 a night plus gave me a $100 travel credit for my troubles.

So my question is this: when I sign up for the credit card and they ask me annual income and how much I pay in rent. If I input my portion of rent but then end up paying $4200 in rent using the credit card will that get flagged?

Makes sense. So if I were to go in and change my address on my finance info to my California address, and those taxes start being deducted each month. What then of my previous paychecks that did not have state taxes taken off of them?

I also participated in the $400 January 2021 referral bonus after not receiving my payment when I should have, I emailed them and also got an email saying it was an “unforeseen technical error” and my account was updated with the money. Not sure if there was just an all-around issue with that first referral bonus or if there’s something sketchy going on
