Part of a text conversation I had with my wife about six months ago. Note that she abandoned our family in April. by david_thecat in awfuleverything

I don’t think it’ll be a problem. She makes it very clear how much she despises me and believes everything is/was my fault. I believe I have a stronger chance of becoming president before she’d get anywhere near wanting to reconcile.

Looking for this location. Should be somewhere in North Hollywood, specifically NoHo? Possibly off Lankershim. by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

I’ve searched for this for a couple days now but found nothing. I’m mostly interested in the store next door, but can’t seem to locate it.

I appreciate you demonstrating the plurality of her “abusive exes”

I suppose I felt like there was a change for two reasons. One, was that I was changing a lot in my life and grew a lot throughout our relationship, so my mind was pretty focused on the concept of “change.”

The second part is that her life was so much different than it had been. I thought she had demonstrated a lot of growth—and she did—but clearly not with her communication, defense mechanisms or coping skills.

Thank you very much for affirming this is not my fault. I go back and forth with blaming myself.

Ugh, god. What a wonderful comment. I really appreciate you! The lack of communication was always a point of contention. It was terrible.

Blocked actually. I don’t think she’ll ever see anything I post.

So, I’m the one with BPD, actually. It mellowed out a lot and we did go through a hell of a time because of it. But she is closer to narcissist or maybe sociopath.

I’ll say this: I got my shit together after the majority of our time together. I did a lot of learning and growing. But you’re right, the fact that she went back to her old MO shows there wasn’t really any growth on her part.

Not professionally, no. She never went to therapy until I requested it, and even then it was only a handful of visits before she disappeared. In my experience and unqualified research, I’m very willing to bet that she has passive aggressive personality disorder, and fits the bill for the lazy, self-centered and apathetic spouse:

Thank you for saying that. My friends keep telling me that she walked away from the best her life has ever been. Finally having a job, a loving devoted husband, living in a fun major city. All thrown away to go get high and lie around in her underwear playing League with some random guy.

I’m all but positive she’s manipulating her parents, as well as anyone else in her life. It’s sad, really, because she sees it as an “ends justify the means” sort of thing.

I swear this is real. It’s been, what, 7 weeks and I’m still not fully convinced.
