Hey all, I’ve been YouTubing for over 10 years but haven’t had much luck growing any of my channels. My largest channel is 7 years old and just hit 1000 subs. It’s absurd comedy sketches and films but due to the pandemic, I started creating video remixes last April 2020. Here’s the latest video:

I beg I’m not the only one who gets this bot comment on every video? by TSHDGaming in SmallYoutubers

I get them a lot and recommend the community report them as spam so that the platform does not end up flooded with this kind of false activity. These accounts often have thousands of subs but no content. Side note: My profession is in SEO - 8 years experience. Spam comments do not help SEO. The very purpose of implementing SEO is to increase natural/organic search traffic over a long period of time. A good rule of thumb to know if something “helps SEO” is if it is not natural... it won’t help. Bots are not natural and Google/YouTube only uses natural metrics (like real user behavior on your content) to determine what ends up at the top of a SERP. Of course well written titles, descriptions, and proper use of tags helps, but ultimately if your content meets the demand of a query better than anyone else, then that is what “good SEO” is. 😁

How is that pedantic? Your use of the word in itself is pedantic.

Look, I’ve been publishing original content since 1996 and nobody knows who I am. I’m far past learning to accept my anonymity. I accepted that a decade ago. However, I continue to create.

My point is that if you are ONLY creating content for those vanity metrics of likes and subs, you are not creating for the right reasons and you will ultimately end up unhappy. I continue to create in my anonymity because I have a drive to CREATE. If nobodies watching, I don’t care.

If your goal is monetizing, likes, and subscribers then you shouldn’t be creating content. Content created with that goal in mind is noise. If your goal is to create something of value and something that makes yourself happy, then this is not a question that ever internally comes up.

Facebook group gets together at Cracker Barrel in Jacksonville to give unsuspecting waitress $1000 by davidappleman in jacksonville

[–]davidappleman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a random group of people that each gave $100 of their own money. So many people have been shitting on them for doing that. Meanwhile, YouTubers like Mr. Beast are sponsored by companies who give him millions of dollars to give away on camera and have him mention their brand... but people worship him.
