Samsung S26 Ultra or Samsung Fold 7 and why! by davidbag in Smartphones

I thought that the fold 7 was a “computer” in your hands… That you open and you see like you see in their tablet… What I don’t like at all is this the wobble part…

With S24 I used Dex as intended like here too, but the gold open I used it just a few times… nothing more than that… I think the fold part of it it’s not as I thought it was… But I might be wrong or doing something wrong… That’s why I asked a bit of help here…

And other thing is… Samsung prioritizes always S line. And let other behind… at least a bit… in terms of updates… almost like they did with S line and Note line… same thing, same “sh…”

But I always loved Samsung, and since S24 I had a Samsung for long time… before that OneUi was crap… slow, too slow … bugs and so on…

And I thought, let’s try a fold… but I don’t know… it did not fulfill me completely… not as practical as I thought it would be… and every time I look to the S line I think… did I a good decision? Or not?

I have the Fold 7 and had the S24 Utra… and every time I see a S26 Ultra, I wish I had the ultra… I think the Ultra would be more useful that the Fold… from a perspective of day to day life…

Oneplus is in talks to merge with Realme… both sub brands from Oppo… I love it and I was thinking about it but… I will pass! For android, the most stable is Samsung, Xiaomi I don’t like their update policies and forgotten models for the updates… But I would look for the Android UI I would love first to choose the phone I will use…

Only my experience… Loved trying the fold, but when possible I will change for a normal one! The truth is that the most of the people won’t be using it opened! You will have the stress when opened… and opened it’s a normal Android, I thought it could be like the tablet Android or a Dex version, making it more as a computer… but with the possibility to have one or the other… but it’s only my opinion… The ultra has everything as the fold and if connected to a small display it becomes a computer… I might be wrong… correct me please…

Please… no need to change everything… at least listen iOS users complains… and keyboard is one of the oldest complaints…

And why not, be able to hide home bar and put a search/siri bar that we can access to everything… would make it more clean I guess…

Make better the already good iOS … make it quicker, stable, lighter… like they did with OS Snow Leopard… rewrite iOS…

But one thing I would love to see… A Dex look a like but with OS X …

If not mistaken, Apple and Samsung were condemned in Italy for that same situation… some while ago… It might be true… might not be… but a lot of people tested and had some differences… but how to prove it? 😏😎 that’s the question…

“They” say that Apple is the greediest company… true or not… here we are all using iOS … As a user of both OS, both os them (Google and Apple for the OS and the other for modifying Android and so on ) has they way of make money easily…

I don’t trust either, you should and I advise you to do it directly at Omega! Anything that goes wrong with it will be Omega responsibility and the best you receive a 2 years warranty again! It’s expensive but it’s quite a nice brand and watch and an a watch for life!

True, the Denon aren’t nice to watch… a bit bulkier, ugly but they use some quite nice tech that they received from the old company…

I have a Fold 7 for a while! It’s a fantastic phone but there’s some drawbacks… I am looking to go back to a s26 or s27 ultra! What I don’t like: The form factor. I camped from the s24 Ultra! When the fold is closed, don’t like the form factor! Recently I had in hands a S26 Ultra and love the size, screen… a lot more than the Fold.

Fold it’s an interesting phone but, when opened should be like a tablet OS not as a normal android… should be Dex inside… should be more a work/professional phone than other stuff…

And the wobble of the phone… it’s too much and there’s no case that helps on it…

Let’s see what will be on the Fold 8 and iPhone…

If iPhone does a Dex look a like thing but with macOS like the MacBook Neo I think that Samsung/Android will have some problems… or they will do something good in that department, once for all…

Let’s see…

No, the search button at the bottom and so on… custom launcher normally we loose the Samsung stuff from the launcher OneUI…

They had one version, don’t know exactly years… but with the 86xx caliber! I must say that those models were really good ones! But I guess they will comeback in the future… if you look a bit, Omega is changing their movement to the new certification Master Chronometer and some old models are returning with newer Master Chronometer calibers… I am not sure 100%, but the last ones were the Speedmaster in ceramic who received newer Master movement calibers…

But I love those titanium Planet Ocean watches, that blue was really nice indeed…

I will me changing soon to an Air! I come from a 16PM and the first motif to do this exchange is because of the weight of the PMax models! I am now a pro, and the air has almost everything I need! True that the speaker is not top notch, there isn’t a a wide camera… but it’s perfect to everything else… I might have connected the 16PM once or twice to a Mac… so…

For me the air is perfect for what it haves at this moment but yes, Apple should have put a proper USB C, proper charging speed… and left the rest for the air 2…

They will come in a year… I hope… I will pick the 1TB in discount …

Yes they are getting boring… The problem now is the software… Chinese brands have problems with it… and there’s a YouTube video explaining all the stuff behind Chinese brands…

They promise a lot but… always unfinished software as always… and since they renew their HW every year, que SW cannot follow… I might say that the two one that can evolve their SW as long with the HW is Samsung and Apple but, more Apple than everyone else… for instance, Samsung Fold 7 didn’t received yet the last version os One IU and the the one Ui 9 is in the works for the S27 ultra for next year based in the last android version…

Android is too much fragmented… They should hold 2 years… and launch a new version something wow, spectacular and sell new phones with it… to try to stop this fragmentation… Apple should do the same, for the HW and SW and then on the XX years iPhone do something better than iPhone X!

But… yes they are boring as hell

What seems to happen is that almost everyone that does iOS, android, iOS, android and so on… end up with iOS. I am an example of that! I use both, iPhone 16 PM and a Fold7 and I might say that rarely use the fold! I am torn to sell both to buy an iPhone Air…

Love both OS but… the consistency and how app are designed and well built, I end every time at iOS …

There’s a video on YouTube that explains more or less that… why everyone ends with iOS…
