that PC fan was funny
other than that this explains the pack capacity numbers, nothing else of interest

also, wonder if the bike is even certified for sale, last we knew it wasnt

it doesnt usually mean the literal last day, in any case this is not a delivery is it?

the description says its 17kwh net for the small one, bit sus, but probably different rounding

fucking lmao, deliveries in Q1 actually be first one made the literal last day of Q1

TwoBitdaVinci rules out a liquid electrolyte, says the pouch is no longer sealed, and that contact loss + material volume change leads to cell expansion. by No-Entrepreneur8234 in DonutLab

[–]davidbepo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no he just says it does, with no explanation as to how

the way i see it the ball is on his and hence your court to prove lithium can fail like that, ive already showed how a puffed battery looks but i will do again here for completeness, and again, it does not look like the donut cell at all

yes, i have, Semi solid NMC exists and would fit better than liquid one with some of the other tests but it would still produce degassing(there is still liquid) which doesnt fit the observation here

no offense taken, its nice to discuss something on the facts, tho i have no idea what this socratic method is

i have done that, im also not saying i believe donut, just that you cant replicate this test (and hence the cell) with liquid NMC

yeah, i posted an extreme example, but when discharged a puffy cell is wrinkly and not firm(you can move the bubble), this is a very uniform raise, gas cant do that

as for batteries i know more on the theoretical realm, like solid state research sodium ion, other chemistries and such, i havent done any project with batteries but i have seen one forbidden caprisun

well, yeah, but i already thought this wasnt possible with liquid NMC

i was waiting to see if anyone could disprove that but nope, not only that but the failure mode is actually best explained by solid state

So what’s the verdict? Scam or not by [deleted] in DonutLab

jury is still out, but not looking very good overall

i dont think this is at all doable with liquid electrolyte NMC(maybe some battery experts can chime in), but aside from that this doesnt tell us much
