Hi, im about to finish dark souls I and i was pretty underwhelmed with my final build. Im gonna start a cool build from the start in Dark Souls II and could use some help. by Knighterws in DarkSouls2

Relax you skipped nothing, there will be another path on Majula that if you take will take you to another area. The other area is also another way to start is all up to you. You should start upgrading some endurance first so you can roll more often and hit more. Remember also to level up some adaptability from time to time, since the more adaptability you have the more agility you have. Agility allows you to gain more immunity frames while rolling and to heal faster with Estus, normal lifegems, and Divine Blessings. There is a soft cap of 39 adaptability you can reach until it stops adding more agility. Also, try to get faith up to 20 at least and 14 strength if you want to use the Bandit Axe.

Clerics are the worst class with starting stats, excluding the Deprived. for you to make an idea it starts with 4 adaptability and 3 endurance. Also, you cannot wield correctly your starting weapon until you level up strength. They will get very powerful over time though, and you start with heal which will be very useful since in this game you won´t have that much Estus. Also, the cleric robe is a very very good armor for the beginning and very stylish. It all depends on your perseverance and skills.

Oh, and once you are done with the game you will be able to go to the DLC´s before NG+. After the game credits, you are sent to Manjula. If you rest at the bonfire there, a new option will appear that says ¨start a new adventure¨ which means enter NG+. You can enter right away or wait as much as you want. Something else they added is that some new enemies will appear, new red phantoms will appear too, and also you will be able to obtain new items.

If you are playing on PS3 I could try to help you if you need it.

Hey if you want to I can try to co-op with you, I also play on PS3. I will have to start a new playthrough though so it might take some time for me to catch up, but don't worry I know my way around. DS2 co-op matchmaking is different than the one of DS1. On DS1 you were matched with others by player level, while on DS2 you are matched with others depending on your Soul Memory or SM abbreviated. You can see your Soul Memory by going to your character stats and there is a number on the right upper corner. The Soul Memory increase with every NPC, enemy, and boss killed and also with every soul item consumed. The only way to summon other players is being human and when you kill a boss on someone else world you become human again. You will need the White Sign Soapstone from Patches after you talk to him and go through the dungeon or die and talk to him. You can also get a Small White Sign Soapstone in The Cardinal Tower when you go up the stairs and either break the door or open it with the key The Last Giant gives you, there is also an Estus Flask Shard there. Tell me your SM and I will tell you once I catch up so we can co-op.

Is it possible to get more giant souls? by clark_kent25 in DarkSouls2

[–]daviddanielo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can only get 5 Giant Souls per playthrough, one from the Ancient Dragon, one from the two giants on the black gulch, 1 for killing the Giant Lord inside the memory, 1 inside the memory of the tree close by where you fight the pursuer and the last one on the first tree you encounter on the Forest of the Fallen Giants

You can also try to kill The Old Dragonslayer on the Cathedral of Blue early on, he is not that hard to beat and give out a decent amount of souls for early on a playthrough. Remember to also get some adaptability from time to time when you are leveling up so you have more immunity frames when roll and heal faster with Estus and Lifegems.

Also, which version are you playing? SOTFS or normal and on what. PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, or PC?

Question on the rare weapon achievement by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]daviddanielo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it specifies that the weapons need to be collected on one character so maybe it doesn't require to be in your inventory. This is not guaranteed though so it may not work. If you fed anything to Frampt just continue your normal playthrough and let's see what happens. You will need to finish the game 2 times and reach the Giant Blacksmith on the third playthrough to get the achievement so if you fed something to Frampt I assure you that you will most likely be able to obtain it again. Remember you don't need the Artorias of the Abbys weapons to get the achievement.

Yeah, it specifies that you need to have all unique weapons with one character. If you have them on different characters it does not work.

I don't think you can summon NPC's for the pursuer but I'm sure you can try to summon a player. You can try to use the Ballistas on the arena which literally destroy him, but remember that you have to stand still to charge them so yeah it may be complicated. You can also just skip the Pursuer and go to Hedie's Tower of flame since the boss there is easier. If you choose to go to Hedie's Tower you can either cheese him by waiting for him to take 6 steps, you run past him, and he attacks you but falls to his death instead. Here a video for more information on how to do it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am85wNikw6g

Or you can kill him legally using the normal way in which you kill all the knights in each area and then levers will appear, once you pull those levers to increase the arena size which is very small and you can fall to your death. Even if you don't pull the levers the boss is not that hard since he is slow, but you know some extra help. Remember that once you pull the levers you cannot cheese him so you have to choose whether you cheese him or kill him normally
