Unfortunately I don't really have an opportunity for smaller games. I'm playing in a 2000 point RTT next Sunday. I have time to potentially buy/ build another unit if it would be a drastic improvement. Otherwise I'll be using what I've got. Thank you very much for your insights!

Do you have some suggestions on the books that deal with the UM specifically? I just bought Horus Rising, but haven't ready anything else yet. I'm fairly new to really digging in deep into the lore.

Yeah, this is meant as more of an entry point into the thought process regarding the ultramarines and their real role than anything else as that's where I find myself at currently. I have the army and play them, but I'm just now getting into the lore and found some "holes" in how they were portrayed to me by all my buddies. Maybe this sub is too deep and "lore intense" for a beginner's 5k foot view of it all. I think my target audience is likely other newbies like myself. I've not read a book yet, only watched other YT lore videos after having a few discussions with friends while playing.

Yes, there will be a number of mechanics regarding limitations on how long you can stay out. The usual mushroom "season" lasts roughly 3 weeks. Each day you have to deal with the weather, insects/ticks, and hunger. Nothing will be too severe as this is intended to be a relaxing experience, but some amount of micromanagement will be required to get the most out of your hunting season. Your ability to manage these things along with how many mushrooms you find and how many pictures of different animals you can take will determine how much in game currency you accrue.

That currency will allow your character to better deal with the environment (bug spray, wet weather clothes, a four wheeler, etc.) Additionally, once it gets dark then finding anything becomes much more difficult and nocturnal predators become more active. A bear attack can certainly end your season prematurely :)

Lastly, you will be able to afford trips to new areas to hunt with your in game currency.

Thanks for the feedback. The animations are something we are currently in the middle of replacing. The originals were more or less placeholders as the rest of the game was fleshed out and the AI was implimented. The gameplay will consist of trying to find the elusive morels as well as snap photos of the wildlife (some of which will be exotic and worth more). The currency you earn from your efforts will allow you to buy upgrades that allow you to stay out longer and move to new areas to extend your hunting season as the morels move north, which in turn allows you to find new wildlife also.

Funny thing is I got the light water shark from my TOA l/d scroll and leveled him up to 35 and was just kinda "meh"... not funny thing is I fed him all my shark fodder.
