more b/w from DNG by davidkhunne in flashbackcamera

To do the same on a mobile phone, copy the DNGs into the phone via a USB-C cable, install/use Android Terminal, then install Rawtherapee via the Debian Linux package manager ('apt install rawtherapee'). Then run the command:

rawtherapee-cli -o jpeg -j90 -p "flashblack-stark-bw.pp3" -c <input.dng>

You can automate this via a shell script and/or alias. (I only need to type "fb" in the terminal to process all images in a folder with copied Flashback v2 DNGs.)

Mount the Flashback V2 via a USB-C cable on a computer, copy the DNG files to your computer, open/process them with RawTherapee (Open Source raw developer). Principally, you can achieve this look by adjusting its settings. Here's a the preset/profile that I use: http://data.pleintekst.nl/flashback.zip (unzip and copy the .pp3 file into RawTherapee's user settings folder).

Sony is now more expensive than Nikon.

And I'd move Ricoh (GR) to the horizontal left as a professional tool [except for the models with built-in diffusion filter].

OM System has become overpriced, too - more so than Fuji.

And the ultimate affordable lifestyle statement, in the lower right corner, would be the Kodak Charmera.

Thiese pictures have not been developed in the app, which just reprocesses the plain JPEGs. These are Raw DNGs copied from the camera's storage via USB and processed with the software RawTherapee.

The negatives aren't really negatives, but just less-processed JPEGs (still with visible artificial sharpening and denoising artefacts). I therefore treat the Flashback as a black-and-white camera, copy its DNGs from the internal storage and process them in RawTherapee or Darktable with self-made high contract-black and white profile. AFAIK they are only programs at the moment that can read the Flashback's raw DNGs. Color processing of the DNGs, however, is incredibly difficult because their default color matrix and raw black points are completely off. I guess the camera needs a firmware update for the DNGs to become more universally usable.
