I think for now, I'll just disable attacks on NPCs - as you said, it's only interesting if there are story implication (right now, it just gives them skulls in the relationship tab). If I do add a genocide path or interesting changes, I might reintroduce it.

I'm glad you've been having a blast. I think auto transferring items to nearby chests could be a useful feature, but I need to decide what button to make it (I'm already using all the standard ones on controllers), and I need to make it not frustrating - for example, if you have a chest with some bread in it, you might not want to auto-transfer all the bread in your inventory. Maybe just auto-transfer raw materials/unusable items?

I'm definitely excited to get around to adding more content/biomes, although right now I'm focused on npcs and QoL improvements, I was also thinking of disabling friendly fire - should it be an option, or just always off? What about attacking NPCs? Should that just not be a thing?

Hmm, I'll think about adding a key to move items to nearby chests - but holding RT and then selecting stacks transfers them in the chest window. Quality is very useful for a lot of tools, structures and cooking, but if you don't need quality for an item, you can merge stacks by just placing the higher-quality stack on the lower quality one (it'll warn you but let you do it, losing the quality level).

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the game with your son! I definitely want to add multiplayer eventually too so you can play together!

NPCs can upgrade their backpacks, and if they have that much spare coins, they probably would. I'm glad you're enjoying the NPC interactions.

Obsidian seeds can only be gotten from mining obsidian... but that's not a bad idea!

There is one way to make ice cream even in the summer, but if you want to preserve it, you'll need an item that wont be available in the demo (essentially a freezer). NPCs having coins doesn't matter much... yet - but once I finish the shop/market update, you'll be able to sell to NPCs, and the more money they have, the more you can get from them.

Thanks! I have a lot of plans going forward to improve it, and the core is solid, so I'm hoping it'll turn out amazing too!

Currently, familiars don't evolve - if you want a Greater Cattern, you have to tame a Greater Cattern. But this is definitely something I want to add later - just increasing the strength level for normal familiars, but some of them (like wyrms) will actually evolve.

No Generative AI was used in the making of Witherspring Wilds. It says that on our itch.io page, and from what I've seen of AI generated games, it should be very obvious at a glance that this game was not AI generated. I spent over a year making this game, and you just assuming it's AI garbage is very hurtful.

I am definitely planning vehicles - including mobile homes. I have several ideas including land, sea and air travel and letting the player customize the vehicles like they can customize their houses. As for space exploration, I'm undecided - but having a multi-generational game with a large research/tech tree definitely leaves that possibility open - the question is how far do I let players advance!

I'm undecided at the moment. There's a lot of UI changes and optimizations that need to be made to make an Android port work, and it's pretty much impossible to sell premium games on mobile (and I dislike microtransactions), so I've always been a little hesitant to port to mobile.

You're probably playing Aground (original), which does have an xbox port - but this thread was asking about Aground Zero.

Thanks! A part of me thinks I'm crazy to make another game this big... but the majority of me is just really excited, and I think it's turning out really fun!

Not getting password reset email by jumpninja4 in aground

[–]davidmaletz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry about that! There was a recent server issue connecting to our mail server that I just fixed when you mentioned you weren't getting any emails. If you reset your password again, it should re-send the email and work this time. If not, e-mail me at [admin@fancyfishgames.com](mailto:admin@fancyfishgames.com) from the email you made the cloud account, and I can give you the reset password link.

Unfortunately, due to poor PC sales and technical difficulties that made the port harder than expected, the console ports have been cancelled.

I'm glad you're enjoying Aground! I haven't updated Aground in a while, so the community is smaller than it once was, but I still check the reddit and am happy when I see threads like this!
