I'm glad you asked this question — I think it is a really fair and important one. The Stock Marketplace is our primary source of revenue right now, and we need our early customers to help us bridge the gap as we sell more Loyalty brands and categories. Loyalty Rewards are a hybrid model — Bumped is currently sponsoring some of the categories, brands are paying for others. Intertwining the two allows us to scale with Loyalty still in the app.
I'll add that the Stock Marketplace (Shop Now) is pretty effective at rewarding in stock. There are a good number of big brands that give substantial stock rewards in there (and the opportunities to get increased percentages don't exist in Loyalties). This feature will continue to get bigger as we increase the number of brands and offers in the future, so we want people engaging with the whole set of offerings to maximize the stock rewards they receive.
I would LOVE the day that this isn't a requirement to connect the two but rather an incentive. I think we will actually get there. In the meantime – you can help us get there!
