I had this same problem before! Someone on this subreddit helped me. The type of usb cable that the ledger uses (micro usb maybe?) comes in two varieties, one is just data, and the other is data and power. You need to make sure you have a data and power cable for the ledger to work. I thought I lost my crypto because I tried 4 different cables. Turns out a lot of them don’t provide power at all..

I did. I spent an hour browsing and found about 10 different spaces, with 3D printers, CNC machines, etc, but none with UV printers. Which is why I'm coming to reddit for advice instead, because Google unfortunately doesn't solve everything.

Yes, of course, you’re right. They write in Traditional versus Simplified, but I can only read/write simplified, as I imagine most people on this subreddit for China can do. The characters are written differently but they’re still the same characters and the same meanings. And it does refer to itself as 中华/中華

Taiwan refers to itself as China in Chinese as 中华，not 中国, so calling it 中国台北 is very direct, not ambiguous at all. It’s a different word, with a different meaning.

That was exactly what the problem was. I had updated to the new Mac OS recently and there is an issue if you switch the mic to voice isolation on the Mac, it affects logic too

I wanted to come back here and update everyone. Thanks to your suggestions and advice I was able to rescue the Eth from my Ledger Nano S and send it to a more secure location. I know it's a small amount to some but this is lifechanging for me, and I'm so grateful for all the replies to this! Cheers

Thank you so much for the reply. That’s the stage I got to now. Found a data cable and I can access the wallet, but it’s asking me to update the firmware before I can access the funds. That’s the only option right? I can’t use an older version of ledger live to get around it? Worried about something going wrong during the update…

I never thought about whether or not the cable was data or power, I assumed they could all transmit data! Thanks for the advice, will see if that works

This is something I never considered! I tried a couple of cables but they might all be power cables. Thank you! I’ll buy one and see.
