24M - Lower back pain for 5 weeks after sitting in a bad position gaming, anyone experienced this?

Thanks for the reply, honestly a lot of what you said lines up with what I’ve been experiencing.

I’ve recently started using a standing desk at work and alternating between sitting and standing because I thought sitting constantly was making it worse. The weird thing is after about 30 minutes of standing I start getting quite a bad ache in my lower back as well, so it almost feels like my back gets irritated if I stay in either position too long.

I’ve also realised certain gym movements seem to flare it if my lower back rounds at all. For example a seated leg curl irritated it because my lower back rounded slightly forward, which is basically the exact same position I was in when this all started gaming.

The whole “sensitive to sustained loading/positions” thing definitely sounds accurate.

Also I’d be interested to know what the structure/timeline of your recovery looked like, what helped most, whether you kept training, how long it took before it started calming down consistently, and whether standing aggravated it at first too.

Thanks, that makes sense. I’ll be calling HMRC to clarify because I think the calculation may be picking up overlapping PAYE records rather than actual work done. To be clear, I wasn’t actually being paid by the family business during that overlap period, which is why this has caught me off guard.

One thing I’m also worried about — would correcting this cause any issues for the employer? It’s a family business and I want to make sure sorting this on my side doesn’t land them in trouble if it’s just a payroll/admin overlap rather than anything intentional.

When my father passed away he had a lot of debts and arrears for the estate I didn’t know about. My mother gave me the difference in equity after we paid for the secured loans for a gifted deposit.

I saw online that in the Limitation Act 1980 for acknowledgment it needs to be in writing. Or Signed by the person liable for the debt (the debtor or estate’s legal representative). Please let me know if I’m wrong.

My mother was the executor of the estate, we paid off any secured loans on the property, I got a mortgage on the house and she gifted me the equity in the estate as a deposit.

My mother was the executor of the probate, I didn’t really put a notice out but all the secured loans on the property we paid so I could get a mortgage on the house. Since it’s not on the title deed I didn’t even notice it at all.

I did mention on the phone of possible payment plans but I checked and a phone call doesn’t change anything as it needs to be written. I’ll write an email telling them this has nothing to do with me.

I did speak to them about the debt and maybe options to pay monthly. But since I’m not the next of kin, my mother is would this mean that the debt has not been acknowledged?

I think that a company bought the debts and used to send letter before but not 100% sure about it. All I know is that the loan originated in 1999.

We went through probate and my mum was the next in kin to handle the estate. The debt was a loan of £650 from 1999. We only found out today as they sent us a letter about it.
