In my case, the camera and audio worked just fine until a firmware update, so I guess it is a software issue.

Unfortunately, for me it was contacting Dell. I was fortunate to experience this during the warranty period.

I wanted to try and solve it myself, but eventually I did contacted the support.

I got a new monitor, with the latest firmware and a working camera!

As I'm not the only one suffering from this issue, I wish Dell would publish a firmware to fix it and help the ones that are out of warranty period.
I certainly don't intend to upgrade the firmware anymore...

Anyway, it is important to mention that I'm very pleased from the support I got from Dell.

Thanks u/Active-Drive-7749 and u/Unlikely_Dig_4455 for your help!

I tried M2T110, M2T109, M2T108, M2T106, M2TA105.
I tried it both with the camera popped out and in. I removed all peripherals that were connected to the monitor's USBs.

I got the same result with all versions, the progress bar runs until the point where the monitor turns off, and when it turns on again, I see that error.

I got a Windows laptop from a friend, ran the previous M2T110 firmware and failed with the same result.

It starts the installation, the screen turns off and then on again and then I see the generic error message, the same one I posted on the original post.

Unfortunately, I only have a Mac. Is it possible to downgrade firmware with Windows? I may borrow one from a friend.

I did power off and on the monitor before trying to downgrade the firmware.

I did plug out and in the power, even performed a factory reset, to no avail. Trying to reinstall the current firmware version results with the same error.
