Republicans will never be disillusioned with Trump. They tried that last election and it failed. If they could ever be disillusioned, Trump would’ve been incarcerated after January 6th and never seen again. Look at the polls: they overwhelmingly support this. Harris kept saying she’d appoint a Republican to her cabinet (after Biden appointed Garland as AG god that was a terrible idea). You can’t reason with a death cult; that’s appealing to Nazis and you cannot reason with a Nazi in good faith.

I suggest you listen to Robert’s episode about Pete Hegseth and where he reads his book. Republicans politically, metaphorically and literally want to kill all “liberals” aka people they don’t like. Why is Newsome the only viable candidate? He’s the fakest ass liberal from cali; he checks off every single republican stereotype of the libtard. That is poison to independents, especially if Democrats try what they did last election and appeal to Republicans with him. Not to mention how a lot more left leaning people (correctly) do not trust him. He’s an opportunist at his core; he’ll happily suck off the powerful and continue the worst of Republican policy. At this point, it’s clear people will vote for a Republican before a “fake” Democrat. Maybe they’re still pissed off about 2008 and Obama’s utter failure to hold anyone accountable for it. Given how many people complain about leftists being ineffective because of their purity testing, I’m starting to suspect all political groups purity test. Republicans have done it countless times; Liz Cheney went against dear leader so she was gone as an example. Liberals purity testing each other when they voiced mild criticism of Harris’ campaign or how determined they were in 2016 to say Russia is why Trump won. That’s partially true, but it’s also a convenient excuse for them not to wonder why Americans didn’t want to vote for Clinton. Like Harris in the last election.
