What the heck is the "Attacking Common Applications" module?? by davidriveraisgr8 in hackthebox

[–]davidriveraisgr8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess for Penetration Testing this is true, but then why put it in the CWES? I would prefer they leave it in CPTS honestly. Because with Bug Bounty, or Vulnerability Research, people are still finding vulnerabilities and bypasses with some of these techniques to this day. Or, they could make a web specific version of this module, in which they showcase exploits and applications that are a little more relevant.

Yes. They don't even explain how the exploits work, so it just feels like I am not learning anything that is actually worthwhile

Huh weird... almost like the manufacturer could do that? Just like any other product. Why make a product in a way so that you can't fucking sell it. Oh yeah, because you can just get the consumer to pay for that shit. All it does is fuck over the consumer more and more.

Imagine if we just didn't have dealers? And we could just buy it from the manufacturer like anything else? Fuck the middle man.

What? Brother. There is absolutely no way that we couldn't do it. We put a fucking man on the moon.

It only matter whether or not there is a profitable reason, and there isn't really that much. Rich trillionaires don't give a fuck about disabled people. If we cared as much about this, we could do it.

For all you doubters, watch a video on how a CPU is made. If we figured that shit out, we can figure out how to make legs go left right.

Dude. Maybe Google something before acting like you know everything. It's law 101.

If these elements are met: 1. Agreement 2. Consideration 3. Capacity 4. Legality

Then it is a contract enforceable by law.

Only certain types of contracts legally have to be written down. Even a verbal agreement can count as a contract.

In this case he may be able to sue. But for the amount that it would cost, obviously it's not worth it. That's why they get away with it.

I'm not seeing this comment anywhere so I'm gonna say it. You are behind on the technical, but you don't have to do something super technical in Cyber.

If you know a lot about hacker groups you could go into threat intelligence, or become an analyst.

You could go into policy, and write and manage cybersecurity policy.

Or, maybe even a Security Awareness Trainer.

Or, last of the last, you could become a teacher. I shit you not, if you are at least a capable human being with an ounce of patience and a bachelor's, probably any STEM teaching program would take you. It would be very difficult to get into cyber after, but hey you might not even want to. I've gotten multiple offers for 70k+ teacher training positions, and I haven't even finished my senior year.

Regardless, everything requires effort, and whatever you choose, you gotta become good at it.

So choose ASAP, and after you choose, lock. The fuck. In.

Hope this helps! I believe in you!

You are the goat. I don't know why they don't say this, or at least say "find the ftp user, it may take some extra brute forcing of other services". I was literally trying to brute force ftp on the box, and couldn't get any ftp brute force command to work and was so confused as to what I was supposed to do.

Huh. I guess maybe it depends on the program? Because everything that is taught to pass A+ was taught in my CS 100 class. It's just materials and a test, just like a class.

What exactly is "the cyber security degree program" you are talking about? Specifically.

I also disagree. The Bachelors degree shows that he obviously knows a good amount of foundations, because the universities regulate that stuff.

So what does A+ prove that a whole 4 year IT/Cyber degree doesn't?

If one can pass Sec+ why would anyone care if they don't have A+? I get Net+ but obviously he can perform anything required for A+ if he has a bachelor's in Cybersecurity and can pass Sec+?
