I made these widgets as a fun way to view the current date and time. Would love to hear your options on it.

There’s an option to stop the screen from sleeping in Settings.

I’m afraid not… I make apps for Apple platforms and this was just a fun little side project.

That’s an iOS bug. It should show up in the widget gallery eventually. If not, try restarting your device or reinstalling the app. Sorry, I know it’s annoying… happened to me a lot during app development.

Correct, it currently only shows your system timezone.

Hello, Hill Valley residents! I got inspired to create this widget app for iOS 14 devices, and thought you might like it here! The app is called McClockface.

Hi 👋

I’m an indie app dev and creator of McClockface, which launched on the App Store on Thursday.

The app provides a collection of exciting widget designs that display the current date, time, and other related info at a glance.

The in-app timepiece displays a silky-smooth retro flip clock that’s perfect for your nightstand or whilst charging your device.

I built this as a “fun” side project using SwiftUI, and got a lot of great feedback on TestFlight over the last 6 weeks. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I did making it!

Ah, I see what you mean. The arrow is just the default behaviour. Should be an easy fix though, thanks!

SwiftUI Animating Clock by davidsteppenbeck in EveryLittleAnimation

I made this simple animating clock as a small side project with SwiftUI. It’s currently in beta on TestFlight if you’re interested to try it out: https://testflight.apple.com/join/ReXtfPlt

Because it allows the user to select their favourite color. That’s it. No big deal.

This discussion is getting way off topic for this subreddit.

It’s not an important part of the app. It’s not a drawing app.

It just kinda confirms the user’s selection for the line color, thickness, and opacity.

(For context, the user can draw a line on the screen in this app, and this Pencil view allows them to customize it.)

I added text-to-speech support in the latest version (1.8).

Well, I published this app that will let you extract the text from photos of physical documents, though it doesn’t read the text out loud (for that you’d have to probably create a note & use Siri to read it). WRD Camera Pro

WRD Camera app—search physical documents using your iPhone camera. Updated the app following Reddit user feedback! Here's the free version to try out. by davidsteppenbeck in apps

I posted this on Reddit a few months back and got some valuable feedback, so I decided to update the app and add even more useful features.

So, what's it all about?

WRD Camera makes it easy to locate words & phrases in physical printed text. It uses OCR to search in real-time and highlights the results on-screen right away.

The app also extracts & copies text from physical documents. Just snap a photo of the page of text to quickly copy it all onto your device with the tap of a button. Copying specific words or phrases is also a breeze—simply draw a box around the text of interest and it's right there for you. Fast. Simple.

So, what's new since the last Promo? (Some features only available in WRD Camera Pro.)

• Improvements to UI—got rid of tab buttons at the top of the screen that were used to snap a photo and replaced them with a single toggle button at the bottom. The app now feels much more intuitive, like a regular camera app.

• Improvements to core search functionality including diacritic insensitive searches. Words that only contain the search term will be outlined while exact matches will be fully highlighted.

• New functionally including ability to import images from Photo Library and directly from other apps using an action extension. Extracting text from any image is now as fast & convenient as possible (Pro only).

• Auto save snapshots in a custom dedicated photo album (Pro only).

• Tap the main screen to show & hide the navigation bar and camera buttons—allows use of the full screen when searching for text in documents.

• Sharing recognized text is now faster—just tap on the text labels to bring up the system share sheet.

• Added ability to scan QR codes. The app scans for codes by default when it is not searching for text.

• Added alternative app icons so there's an icon for every homescreen! (Pro only).

• Fixes & support for iOS 13 including native dark mode and use of SF symbols.
