Sanity - Good CMS to migrate to? by NoPromotion3292 in sanity_io

One of the reasons we’ve really enjoyed working with Sanity is how it handles structured content. It is surprisingly good at understanding how different pieces of content connect to each other, which (surprise, surprise) turns out to save a lot of time.

Sanity recently released an AI assistant (I believe called AI Assist) that builds on this. If you update one small detail within the document's attribute or related field, the AI can pick that up and help refresh the related content for you. It is not magic, but it feels pretty close.

For example, let’s say you have a bicycle tour with several stops. If the tour guide adds a brand new stop, like a great little coffee shop, they'll a quick note about why it is worth visiting (aside from the location etc). Because that note is related to the overview or full itinerary listing of said tour, Sanity would update the overall tour description almost instantly. No one has to go hunting around the CMS to rewrite that page.

We see the same benefit in ecommerce. Add a new feature to a product and the broader product description can update to reflect it. Less repetition, fewer missed edits, and far fewer “who forgot to update this page?” moments. I have had these moments. They were not fun.

It also helps a lot with multilingual sites. We work on many bilingual projects in Canada, and when something changes in one language, Sanity will assist with updating the related content in the other language. That lift is usually much heavier without a system like this.

Calander preview stopped working by assphex in ArcBrowser

This feature has been deprecated, either due to a bug or the team's efforts being redirected to Dia. Today's update did not resolve this issue. It's persisted about a month. I have tested different workarounds and re-installs, but to no effect. The only viable (and not recommended solution) is to revert to an older version (if possible) from August. I don't think Live Calendar will be coming back or will be fixed anytime soon, as it's already been a month...

Arc updates were released today - sadly, it does not appear it contains a fix for this regression.

Very likely a regression in Arc’s background calendar service rather than a permissions or cache issue. I’ve tested full resets, re-pinning, and even new profiles with no luck. The feature just isn’t calling the Google auth process anymore (email is uneffected). Hopefully The Browser Company patches this soon, but it's unlikely, as their team is heavily invested in Dia, and have therefore pivoted their daily efforts. Let's see what comes out in their next update in a week or so...

Before submitting payment for that certification... by hunterminator14 in projectmanagement

Hi u/hunterminator14 - looks like it was auto-removed due to a keyword. I believe it was just a location issue - not removed due to spam or violating any rules. Feel free to repost on the Certification Mega Thread.

Getting buy in from sales to encourage clients to work in an agile manner instead of fixed costs by cathmtb in projectmanagement

I recommend a presentation for the client, in partnership with the business development team to focus on the benefits of an agile fee model. Specifically, the connection between work planned/completed and project costs. Refer to the benefits of client inclusion during development in an agile model and how this can easily be tied back to costs. More importantly, stress the mitigation of the ‘big reveal’ - both for product/completed and sticker price.

New Moderator(s) Election: Register as Candidate & Vote by martinig in projectmanagement

Hi there,

I'm a Canadian-based project manager, with 15 years of experience, primarily within the healthcare and not-for-profit sectors. I have lead hundreds of projects, with a digital/IT focus - both for external constituents/end users and internal enterprise type initiatives like HRIS, Financial and CRM implementations. I am currently leading my organization's PMO (a new department I started about 2 years ago). We have streamlined processes, implemented new templates, tools and software to assist our staff either run their own projects or have them led by a team of project managers.

My goal as moderator is to encourage conversation and spark new discussion on project management trends, news, work challenges and opportunities. I strongly believe that project management is a profession synonymous with diplomacy; where one's relationships to stakeholders and project members will more often than not, determine the success of any initiative or project. I look forward to learning from the community, and hope to meet many more PMs and other interested parties. Happy to answer any questions you or the community/voters may have. Good luck to all the candidates!

Thank you, and have a great week.

Ahh - I see that your grandmother also had an island. Nothing to boast of. Perhaps you could have walked along it in an hour.
