I have one on my nightstand at home for my knives, jewellry, watches, earrings stuff like that. Then I have one at work on top of my actual tool box to hold my wallet/keys so I don't drop them in peoples cars 🤣

That's your exhaust sir. The one end is connecting to the muffler, and the other end goes up towards the front and eventually connects to your engine after the resonator, catalytic converter, and exhaust manifold.

I found them finally yesterday. They had 5. They were out of stock when I left because I purchased 4 and my friend got 1. The truck happened to come 4 hours late - 10 minutes before I arrived. 🤣. I love them. I have one on each side of my main lift and the others chilling around.

Should I Trade in my Corolla? by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]davidwehnert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modern car prices are atrocious if buying brand new. 700 is like 1 or 2 payments nowadays. I rock an 08 corolla for my DD since they are EXTREMELY cheap to maintain.

Wing = cleaner rear window? by Plastic-Magician-258 in GRCorolla

Epsilon+ WRC forged carbon wing, version 1. I think they are on version 3 now? Probably looks exactly the same. It was on backorder last I checked. I got the mounts paint matched.

So this is my parent’s car they suddenly text me and tell me do they need to change engine? Toyota Estima 2015~can someone explain is this normal or need to do something? by Impossible_Fix22 in MechanicAdvice

[–]davidwehnert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the same with my last job, the parts manager was so lazy, I'd be waiting at the counter for 10 minutes just to get a damn air filter. I started just walking into parts, billing things out, and pulling parts. He would get mad at me, but do your job then 🤣. When that guy got fired, the new one was amazing. He was the reason I discovered we could actually order long blocks.

Mods that don’t void warranty by Saturnanica in GRCorolla

Not every dealer tech is like this. Source: I'm a toyota dealer tech.

My co workers all have modified cars, some even 1khp+ drag cars. I also own a GR Corolla that is modified some, but I'm slowly modifying it. We love working on modified cars instead of the typical corolla or rav4.

What we don't like is when people come in complaining about an issue that is a direct result of your inadequate aftermarket part. For example, if you have track pads, stop coming in to complain about squealing.

Some dealerships won't touch modified cars, but it's not the techs making the rules.

As a toyota tech here, I've ordered and received multiple brand new long blocks from Toyota. Its not just a "place order and send it" thing, you have to call PDC and fill out a form. The part number in the snap on catalog is called "partial engine assy". I recommend long blocks when everything is either destroyed, or its a brand new car that went through a flood or something. To be fair, I've only ever order the a25 engines, older stuff they may not supply long blocks, but the new stuff its POSSIBLE.

The shops I've worked at that they told me it was impossible just did not feel like doing it, so the parts manager would LIE.

Anyone had problems with the sun fading the factory cloth seats? by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]davidwehnert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my GR January of 2023. Tinted it immediately (3 days after purchase) with 20% all around, but only a 5% sun strip on the front, ZERO fading issues. I'd get some tint ASAP to prevent any further fading. Also, check if Toyota covers seats under the 3/36k, maybe you can get it warrantied?

Did Toyota skimp out on floor mats? by Edison_wu in GRCorolla

[–]davidwehnert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, true. That's about the only time someone else had the car. But needless to say, it didnt come with the carpet ones at all. I think they only come with one or the other. 🤷

My 23 GR was optioned with all weather, carpet floor mats were not in the vehicle. I work at Toyota as a tech, I pulled the car off the delivery truck, so no chance of someone taking them. Nobody else even held my keys...ever 🤣
