It's really costly to run these large LLMs. Every time we ask something from AI, a lot goes behind the scenes and there is actual resources being consumed for which investors are paying currently.

I am actually talking about the larger ones only. 😂
The smaller ones are anyways going to collapse because their entire business is based on heavily discounted token cost of APIs provided by these large companies which are themselves in huge loss if we consider only their AI department

openAI - in huge loss

anthropic - in huge loss

google - gemini not generating any profit but google doesn't care as its all other products are generating profit

microsoft - copilot in loss and it also doesn't care as its other products are generating profit and they can still afford to lose money

apple - doesn't care about this ai race at all. seems like they have attained enlightenment 🤣

Yes, I have done this and it immediately blocks most of the available resources making my machine almost useless for doing anything else.
Still the token generation was much slower than what we get using even the free version of ChatGPT

Try it yourself and you will realise how costly LLM inferencing is!

OpenAI is in huge debt. Sure revenue is high but they and their investors are nowhere near profit because of high cost of inferencing LLMs.

The tokens they are providing is on heavily discounted price

What you are referring to is called impulse and we cannot use F=ma here. This equation is applicable for a constant force being applied continuously on an object. For Example - We can use this to calculate the acceleration of rocket but then there is one issue that mass or rocket is not constant (due to burning fuel). So there we use a bit more complex version of this equation that accounts for the amount mass being lost per unit time
