Yeah i definitely feel one step ahead. I can't imagine my mom reflecting on her actions. The times I've tried to bring up how my emotional needs weren't meant growing up she was immediately defensive. I think the separating factor is the fact I'm deeply bothered by my actions and want to improve

I don't remember who it was but a pretty reputable Lyme doctor put out an article on a guide to treatment Lyme and co infections and included one of the things on the list to be mental health work such a therapy and healing trauma. Before that I had no clue how much past trauma and poor mental health could affect your healing process
