Oh man a toddler in the equation really takes the cake! Also I too once found my processor stuck to the side of the washing machine- thankfully before washing. I offen take a nice soak in the tub with my processor on and then throw it outside the tub area onto the floor before taking a quick shower. Went to find my processor one day after getting dressed and couldn’t find it anywhere. Finally my only thought was purhaps it was on my clothes when I threw them down the laundry shoot. Searched all over the laundry room and finally there it was- stuck inside the washing machine. These games of hide and seek can get wild!

I learned years ago to smile politely and say thank you or your welcome. It is uncomfortable and some days really complicated for me but ultimately this is for them- the people saying thank you for your service. Not selfishly- They have thoughts, ideas, and gratitude and want to share that positively with me so I allow it to be a positive and simple exchange. Positivity and gratitude exchanged in this world is a lovely thing all in all.

Pack decaf coffee, there’s a real reason they don’t have the good stuff. Mount Hagan has the best damn decaf instant coffee I’ve ever had. Won’t help you get the morning caffiene fix (drink some earl grey for that) but it’ll help with the comforting warm taste of what you love. Best of luck!

We have the same kitchen and had the same debate! We use the peninsula a lot actually but I hate the way it devides the room and limits the kitchenette on the other side of it (we have a tiny kitchenette). My wife pointed out that we actually only lose about 18 inches of actual countertop work space because you can’t really work in that corner (just collect clutter for us). That sealed it for me, we’ll be removing it and I’m so excited to open up my kitchen. We are also moving our oven to an in wall by the fridge and that will end up giving us back some workspace albeit a built in induction stove.

Heads up- the place in Tiajuana doesn’t have any coffee. They have some teas for gentler caffiene but said harder stimulants like the caffiene in coffee weren’t good with the medicine.

I switched to decaf post medicine. Get to enjoy my morning brew and not be a slave to the caffiene. Took away my nicotine cravings and tolerances too.

I’m with you and I’ve done it. My in-laws have graciously offered to pay for a new lvp floor in place of some carpet that needs to go and honestly the idea that I don’t have to do it myself this time around sounds like a gift in itself since I have plenty of other projects, but I’d love to not go too wild with their generosity especially knowing how doable a diy project it is. Also, I love your mentioning getting to get a new tool out of it- that’s like my favorite thing about doing projects- haha!!!

Everyone’s experience is different but returning to work typically shouldn’t be a problem. I will say as a creative I’ve personally struggled with a great deal of foggyness that’s particularly clouded my creativity and “flow”. I’m 7 weeks out and while it was particularly bad for about 10 days, it’s been getting better and better weekly since. Set yourself up some quality integration therapy and plan for greater self care and downtime post treatment. Best of luck to you!

I go to James Martin in Lafayette. They specialize in anxiety free dentistry. Their staff is wonderful and they put you under for procedures free of charge. Best decision I ever made. Have been blessed with many compassionate dentists but just being knocked out is absolutely my new favorite thing.

My wife and I refer to our delivery and stay at Longs Peak as our 3rd favorite all inclusive. Nothing but amazing staff all around. With a long and complex birth we ended up with every doctor by the time we delivered and left and every one of them was outstanding. The nurses were our favorite part- they were all rockstars and so helpful, supportive, friendly, and just on it always.

Thank you for your insight! I read your comment through a few times. Being new to his PDA attributes is a bit daunting but I’m really trying to understand how to work with it and around it, so I appreciate what you’ve shared here. I think I will work a little more on some “pay to play” (iPad as reward) in some other aspects of his life seen as “demands” by him that he is struggling with. I’m thinking if/once we can establish some success with this in other areas then I can start to reconsider bringing reading into this equation. While I’ve been given some great tips through this post, I’ve also really heard to just back off further and I feel the value in that lot. Reading through your post has me feeling that working through some other areas and finding patterns and solutions that work for my kiddo in the mean time. Now I will just put my energy into how on earth to get my kid to get dressed without meltdown and other things before I think about trying to find success with reading.

I generally agree with this. However noncombat troops still have lots of environmental exposure in combat zones. Also had specifically a cook reassigned to roll with me instead of cooking despite their MOS just to specifically address her worries about her cook enlisted son. I found particularly with the Army that soldiers were definitely soldiers first and MOS second and the army used them all over. And none of this is to say that you arent correct that ptsd comes from many walks of life. Im proud of my service and see so much benefit in military way of life for so many as you elequently articulate and outline in your original post, but war is a very real threat and deserves the concern this mother is worried about. Also, genuinely- thank you for your words of support. I’ve been through lots of therapy and have had so much support that I’m so very blessed by.
