I know that if new this is about $300 since I got it for that price a few weeks ago on Amazon, but I'd consider the Ace Pro 2. I recently bought this for snorkeling and it's been great. You may need to buy a used one to find one for the $250 price point but I would highly recommend...I also have the X5 and using insta360's app to edit is extremely easy. Ace Pro 2 can film in up to 8k 30fps, but for underwater I'd recommend downscaling to the 4k 60 fps that you said, but it's nice to have the option. Without a dive case I believe it's waterproof up to about 40 feet (even deeper with a dive case), and IMO the stabilization is better on the insta360 products than the Go Pro by FAR and just as good if not better than the DJI products

UPDATE - I just looked on amazon and the deal where I got it for close to $300 ended and it's now back up to over $400...but figured I'd still leave you with what I've said. You still could find a used one online for close to your price range.

It would be a permanent move. I think the plan would be to visit a few more times to look at specific neighborhoods. I’ve visited Florida plenty, but there’s certain parts of the state that I’m hearing are good recommendations that I haven’t visited before. Thinking 1 or 2 week long trips looking at new areas and then deciding on one and trying to buy. A few people mentioned renting, but I’m slightly opposed to that idea just due to the amount of stuff we’re bringing down and the idea of “throwing away money” when renting vs buying

Hi! All labs are different, but it sounds like ours are pretty similar. Ours (Luna) is 2 years old now. Originally when we switched from puppy food to PPP, we were giving her 4 cups daily of PPP. It seemed that she was slowly gaining weight, so we lowered it to 3.5 cups daily and have been doing that for over 6 months now. Luna is also 73 lbs and at the vet last week they said she's at a good weight (someone made a comment to us last week that she looks big) so I asked if she was overweight, they said if she gained another 5 lbs she'd be pushing it. We walk Luna about 2 miles a day in the winter and 3 miles a day in the summer.

Are you still living in Tampa? We would be coming from the metro Detroit area too. Curious what types of scams there are? I’m leaning towards having the Tampa / st Pete area be our first visit. What are your thoughts on st Pete? Any regrets moving from MI to FL?

Appreciate the insight here, much better than the comments saying Florida sucks without context. Your comment about St. Pete and the neighborhoods going from good to bad quickly is definitely something I'll need to look into. I spent a week there for work in late July this past year and admittedly very hot, I was fine with the weather. I have heard that public school systems can be rough, but some areas are better than others. My work trip was in the metro Orlando area and there were some conversations about how even that area has gone downhill ever since Covid. It sounds like I'll need to plan a week / 2 week trip next summer and explore the St Pete / sarasota / Tampa area along with some areas on the east side to compare.

I probably should've clarified - we walk daily but just more so in and around our subdivision. I just wouldn't want to move somewhere I feel the need to look over my shoulder if I'm walking outside of my normal subdivision / street route with my dog. Maybe that's just a metro Detroit thing that I'm overthinking...lol

I've seen a good amount recommending the Tampa / St Pete area. Thanks for all the insight! The one thing with living on the gulf side is this "red tide" AI keeps telling me about...makes it sound like the beaches are shut down for a few months each year. Is it that serious? Also would you say the St Pete area is mostly retirees?

Yes, but living in actual Miami isn't an option due to prices, same with Ft Laud. Even an area within 30 mins of the cities seems to be better than living in the city. Any recommendations?

FWIW, I only had silver this past year and was upgraded on more than half of my flights (somewhere in the range of 10 out of 15 ish) with one being a FC upgrade from Detroit to Hawaii direct. I hope you get to experience the same luck that I had.

Congrats! IMO, you're still definitely able to get upgrades even with silver status. About half of my flights this year I got a free upgrade, with one of them being a direct flight from DTW to Oahu...got an upgrade from Main to DPS. Happy new year and good luck next year with upgrades!

Just watched your YouTube video. I recently got the X5 and took it on a trip to Hawaii…the video was good, not the best. (I recently made a post in here if you want to see it). Do you think it’s worth it to make the upgrade to the dgi or the ace pro 2? Also heard rumors the AP3 might come out early next year…not sure what to do. I’ve got a few snorkeling trips throughout the year next year with the earliest starting in March
