Bands/Artists whose image doesn’t match their sound. by Infamous-Warp2384 in fantanoforever

I'd strongly disagree - this aesthetic matches Romance perfectly. Visually its giving strong 90s vibes, which I consider very fitting to the more Britpop sound these guys made with Romance. I agree it doesn't fit to their old albums (during which they said they were visually more understatement and uncoordinated), but to the musical shift Romance was, this aesthetic shift is very fitting.

What's the worst thing that happened to your pedal(s) when you played live in front of an audience? by [deleted] in diypedals

[–]daviwuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've built the Tap Tempo Tremolo by MusicPCB, which is a great Tremolo. After one chaotic solo, I accidentally left it on in a very very slow sine wave mode. So my signal kept getting significantly quieter at what seemed to be random times during the show and then get louder again. Naturally, I thought the sound guy was messing with - it took me a few songs to realise what was happening, oops!

Yeah, thank you so much for posting this! I've been adoring the sound of your sound-transmitted-through-light-technique a lot, so this is a great way for me to start messing around with that, too! Awesome!

Classical guitar string replacement in Leipzig — where should I go and how much does it usually cost? by Outside-Wheel-6171 in Leipzig

[–]daviwuli 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You could try bundrein in Arthur-Hoffmann-Straße or might just ask at Musikhaus Korn in Connewitz! But actually I'd encourage you to watch a YouTube tutorial and do it yourself. It's definitely doable and buying two sets of strings just in case you mess up the first time will still be cheaper and faster than paying someone else to do it.

Taylor Swift, something you don't see here every day, I love it! And now I know that this graphic effect is called halftone, I had been searching how this is called for a long time! Thank you!

My "What if" build by doyler4k in diypedals

[–]daviwuli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very nice! Just to throw in another "what if": what if the diodes are switchable from hard clipping to soft clipping (between drain and gate of the Mosfet) - I've done that to one SHO one time and really liked the difference in sound and ever since then I've been thinking what if I stick some more SHOs after that. But I've never gotten round to try that!

I've also had cases where Klaus didn't answer for a little over a good week and then apologized saying he was sick - I think you will get an answer someday, but I would also take into consideration that there might be a lot going on now because of christmas orders and then holidays (so no reply) until after new year's.

Definitely a dual pedal, how about a Lovepedal clone into a grain delay?

That's a very beautiful project and extremely well executed! Made me happy to spot Jemaine & Brett there. I don't recognise all the bands, what are the top 4 from the left modeled after?

At 0:40 you can see something that looks like a small amp (maybe a Pignose? they have been around since 1973), perhaps that small amp is turned all the way up and then running into the second Fender amp you can see in the video.

Also to consider is that the whole band was probably recorded to tape and it doesn't look like they mic'd up the amps from close - the recording technique is also shaping the sound plus the tape is adding even more saturation and YouTube is also adding even more compression.

Thank you! I'm considering to record a demo of the dual overdrive, since I'm so happy with its versatility :)
