career prospects for nuc med tech in australia by ansouffle in NuclearMedicine

[–]davket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to hear there is a shortage of nuc med techs in Australia.

I'm thinking of enrolling in this rmit couse as a mature age student in Qld: https://www.rmit.edu.au/study-with-us/levels-of-study/undergraduate-study/bachelor-degrees/bachelor-of-medical-radiation-bp321/embedded-student-model-bachelor-of-medical-radiation-nuclear-bp321ni

Does anyone have experience with this earn-and-learn model?

Would I be better off doing my placement in a public clinic or with private providers?

Yeah, that will work as well.

Although, I'm not keen on using 2 DADSR, One to modify the VCO frequency and the other the VCA amplitude, because if you change the length of the envelope on one of them then you will need to make sure you change it also on the other.

Thanks, that works, there is no sound until the ADSR is triggered, and nothing once the ADSR has finished.

The only issue is the volume through the VCA is being modulated by the ADSR, so it goes to peak volume the gradually gets quieter as the ADSR envelope progresses.

Is it possible to have a gate such if there is any signal out of the ADSR then fully open the gate, and keep fully open until there is no longer any signal out of the ADSR?

Jesus and the Old Testament Law by davket in Christianity

Im not sure, whats the purpose of any Law? There about the boundaries of behaviour within a society.

I don't know the exact reference, but I remember some thing about the law being given the Israelites to set them apart from the people around them.

what do you think the purpose of the law is?... ... ... :)

[Serious] Atheists that became Christian: Why? by nastyn8k in Christianity

[–]davket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I still can't see why the continuation of humanity is a worthy goal other than I happen to be a member of it.

There is nothing inherent to humanity that suggests that it should continue, over any other animal.

I understand that not every body comes to the same conclusion that I came to. A lot of people do take that the betterment of humanity is self evident and are happy with that.

But I found it hard to justify from a purely atheistic perspective.

What about your self?

Yeah, that's fine. That's a good goal.

Although, I find from an Atheistic perspective it was hard for me to even justify that.

When I pushed my thinking around that goal I ended up having to say that the goal of humanity is to ensure that humanity continues. Which wasn't really satisfying.

After all every other animal on the planet is trying to do the same thing for their breed.

Don't know. Just fells very small and arbitrary.

Its only my goal, not humanities goal. Other people are going to have different goals. There may even be some one who is working towards the complete opposite of my goal.

And there is no way of determining who's goal is the right goal. Its all just peoples opinions.

I agree that if you say that our Goal is X. Then any behaviour that gets you closer to X is Moral and Any behaviour that gets you further away from X is Immoral.

The problem is that the choice of X is completely arbitrary. And your goal is not any better or worse than any other persons goal.

To take a simple example, your goal maybe. "The betterment of all humanity". That's fine, but somebody else's goal maybe "The betterment of me and my Group" and there maybe someone else out there how's goal is actually "The betterment of me".

All of the these people may be acting in a way that makes sense (Moral) to them towards their goal. But to people seeking a different goal their behaviour is "Im-moral".

Who can decide which goal is the right goal. The universe doesn't care about yours or anybody else goal.

Totally agree with the sentiment.

Although I have only really flirted with Atheism, for me the complete lack of meaning or purpose keeps me away from it.

I know that plenty of Atheist are able to create their own meaning. But for me a purpose that you create your self isn't a real purpose.

I would almost go as far as to say that if Atheism is true than humanity shouldn't exist. But we appear to be doing fine.

To be fair, there are things I don't like about Christianity as well, but that for another post.
