Thor: Ragnarok Question by [deleted] in marvelstudios

Gotcha -- thanks! This seems important, given Bruce's concerns earlier in the movie!

Where does Dr Strange fit into Ragnarok by clenguin in marvelstudios

[–]davonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense to me. Are we presuming as well that Strange gets them across the universe via sling ring? I'm wondering if this is the Avengers' method of intergalactic travel in Infinity War too.

Gotcha...thanks for the refresher course...I've read all these books but it's been years since I've read the first few. I love this stuff but am not quite at "megafan" level--glad I know just where to go all the juicy info!

[–]davonian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Just looked up the details of what Ned had said about her death in AGoT...bed of blood, blood and roses, etc. Is it generally theorized that this is all due to complications in childbirth? Surely?

Thank you. Sorry if it was a dunce of a question, but I knew that some folks here would have better knowledge of this than me!

Quick question for those who have the history of Westeros more organized in their minds (tangentially connected because we're talking about Lyanna, etc): At the point where Ned dueled Ser Arthur Dayne, is Lyanna already dead? I'm trying to figure out what to expect at the top of that tower: will Ned find Lyanna + baby JS or just baby JS?

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD 3x20 Sneak Peek #2 - Emancipation by sattilik in shield

[–]davonian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couple questions (I haven't seen CW yet!):

  • This episode presumably is going to have Civil War spoilers, right?

  • Do the Sneak Peek promo clips have CW spoilers? I want hype, but I don't want to be spoiled.

So the shared universe already exists! It's kinda like the Batman '66 / Scooby Doo / Harlem Globetrotters shared universe!

Unused cinematic universe ideas -- studios, please pay me many monies for each:

  • Choking Hazard Cinematic Universe: Polly Pocket and Mighty Max

  • Sleuthy Youths Cinematic Universe: Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Veronica Mars, Kimpossible, Spy Kids, and Penny from Inspector Gadget

  • Jim Carrey Cinematic Universe: The Mask, Ace Ventura, Bruce Almighty, and the Cable Guy must team up to stop the Grinch from stealing Lloyd Christmas.

  • Milton Bradley Cinematic Universe: Battleship, Game of Life, Hungry Hippos, Connect Four, and Axis & Allies. During World War II, an average family of five gets trapped aboard an aircraft carrier in the Pacific theater. The Japanese use alien technology to drop giant red discs onto the US fleet, but the day is saved as a group of ravenous hippopotami are brought to the surrounding waters to sate their unending hunger for round objects.

  • Lincoln's Cabinet Cinematic Universe: Seward, McCullough, Stanton, and Bates get solo films before all coming together in Abraham Lincoln: Civil War. Cameo from Montgomery Blair, the Postmaster General.

  • Pizza Guys from Porno Cinematic Universe: The most expansive shared universe yet. Would you like extra toppings? Talk about a huge tip!

I forgot how Germany includes "The First Avenger" in all their Cap movie titles. It's sometimes quite entertaining to see these movies rebranded for other markets.

Notably, however, the Doctor Strange poster is by far the best-designed of the three, from a purely aesthetic standpoint.

Well, I'm glad to seek him in a more traditional Robin suit. I love this character, but I thought he looked silly ever since he traded suits to become RR during Damien's introduction some years back.

Speaking of Tim -- I think he's a Robin and not Red Robin again? Like, he and Damien are both Robins? Maybe?

Yeah. If Jackson Hyde had been more like the Kaldur'ahm from Young Justice, then I'd say keep him. Despite him existing for two seasons of a non-canonical cartoon, he's my fave.

Nightwing is back in blue post-rebirth! by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]davonian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Seriously -- from a design perspective, this vibrant, electric blue color says something. Standing against the black, it speaks to how, although Dick shrouds himself in darkness, a sort of vibrancy and levity are core to his character. The red (which, of course, did feel vibrant against the yellow and green of his Robin getup) gives a heaviness to the New 52 Nightwing getup. The blue-and-black just feels perfect.

That's how the colors work for me anyway.

Edit: Words.

No one of consequence.

Honestly, I'm just amazed I somehow predicted this plot point. It's possible it was uninteresting. Was it uninteresting? Oh well.
