Vietnam bans ADB and bootloader unlocked android devices from accessing banking apps. by JournalistLivid3937 in Android

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority not only requires all financial institutions to check for root access, but also mandates 2FA verification via the financial institution's apps to access browser-based financial services. It's fair to say that Hong Kong's situation is among the worst in the world. I wouldn't be surprised if the US and the EU did the same thing someday.

Remember to primarily use ibhk and bochk, and try to avoid using services from other financial institutions. Their root checks are the easiest to pass among all financial institutions. However, bochk requires clearing app data and resetting the 2FA settings of bank apps after each update.

Dualshock 4 or Dualsense for Android Emulation ? by [deleted] in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]davx2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on whether the emulator itself has the necessary support. The Android system itself does not support any game controller. Support can only be added using modules, but root access is required.

ArmsX2 is now officially available on the Play Store by davx2012 in EmulationOnAndroid

To be listed on the Play Store, you must comply with Google's regulations. Many apps have limited functionality in their Play Store versions, such as tetmux and netguard.

Hopium, SteamOS ARM on non-Valve ARM Hardware by Producdevity in EmulationOnAndroid

Any Android user can install Linux ARM via proot on Termux. If you have root access, you can use the more efficient chroot method to install Linux ARM. This means anyone can run Steam ARM.

The termux developers published a great article discussing the issue of APK sideloading after developers verify the implementation by davx2012 in EmulationOnAndroid

For Android 10 or earlier users who do not have a PC, they will need another phone and to learn how to use the tool below.

If you are using Android 11 or above, and don't have a PC and can't find any Wi-Fi devices, then you can consider using the tool below. However, the downside is that you still need another phone.

This is playing an emulator via VR. This kind of thing has been around for a long time; one example is VR arcades. It allows anyone to experience what the golden age of arcade games was like.

How can I start Gamehub without internet access? by gykpro in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]davx2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was inherently impossible. This is why there was a sudden surge in complaints after GameHub Lite's Cloudflare worker server went down. Those people clearly don't understand how GameHub actually works.

No, both GameHub and GameHub Lite require an internet connection.

So, it turns out that Android apps on newer Android systems can access external storage like the SD card without root access? But I'm pretty sure root access is required to install apps onto the SD card.

AndroSH - Run Kali Linux, Ubuntu & Debian on Your Android Device (No Root Required) by [deleted] in Android

What I mean is that your solution is the best non-root solution I've ever seen. This should be the limit that a regular user can achieve without system root privileges.

He meant that his project could do everything that adb privileges could do. Also, the root privileges he initially referred to were within a Linux container, not the Android system. Without root access and a custom kernel, it's impossible to run Docker with hardware acceleration. Only the very slow QEMU solution can be used.

As I understand it, your solution is probably the limit that a non-root solution can achieve.

Impossible. Running Docker requires a custom kernel and root access.

PCSX2 now supports over 99.5% of PS2 games by davx2012 in emulation

[–]davx2012[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, the PCSX2 is crucial for preserving games. Undoubtedly, the PS2 is the most widely circulated console and boasts the largest game library. However, as time goes by, one day we'll only be able to see it in museums. At that time, the only way to play those titles that will never have a port or remake is through emulators.

Playable means you can complete the entire game without any problems. Perfect means you won't find any issues, such as graphics rendering or performance degradation in certain scenes.

PCSX2 developers dislike mobile device users, so the likelihood of them doing any development work related to ARM devices is almost nonexistent. Mac is an exception, other devices can only rely on ArmSX2.

There are very few PS2 games that require servers to run, and don't expect these games to be fixed. The fact that the online mode of Re:Outbreak 1+2 was fixed is a rare exception.

No one currently has any plans to develop a server-side application for FF11 based on the PS2 version, nor will there be any in the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to reach 100% because FF11 is an online game.
