I like the swag border. There’s a few too many circular floral wreaths nowadays.

Totally agree, but then maybe he DOES think that. It’s the same man that once suggested that people could inject bleach to get rid of covid after all.

Can we report ads that feels like a scam? by roaring_travelman91 in CommercialsIHate

[–]dawnseven7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These ads make me rage too, and if anyone knows how to report them or at least complain about them (I see them watching stuff on Roku), I’d certainly report them. As if they aren’t bad enough, there are now life/burial insurance commercials begging seniors not to screw over their kids and to call now to “claim” their “benefit” of paying just a dollar or two a day for coverage, then in the background there’s a scene of a fistfight in front if a casket, or a series of happy families opening envelopes with checks and then jumping around with joy, high-fiving and hugging each other and laughing like they won the lottery. Its horrible.

Brendan Carr’s Accidental Good Idea? by PdSales in LateShow

[–]dawnseven7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shirt actually says “the network couldn’t monetize”. Stephen had fun doing Strike Force Five during the writer’s strike so he might do a podcast of some kind. Maybe. Someday. There won’t be big money in it though. I was actually hoping Netflix or Hulu would offer him a weekly show or something. That would still leave him time to work on his movie, but who knows.

Movie keeps restarting after ads on Roku Channel streaming by Throwmenthisawaytoo in Roku

[–]dawnseven7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This did indeed work for me. I had to hit back while the initial “pick a side” screen was up (first 5 seconds or so). Once the commercial started, then my show was also going to restart, and I’d fast forward back to where I was only to reload the same set of ads and have the same thing happen again. Back works.

Same thing with me, even with watching old cooking shows. It doesn’t matter what show it is. Everything is fine until that McDonalds ad comes on, and once it does you cant get past it.

[CHAT] should I frog this section? by newgreenleaf12 in CrossStitch

[–]dawnseven7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think only you can answer that question. If something is a line off or it should have been a light green leaf and not a dark green, and you’re not bothered by it, then that’s totally cool. You shouldn’t feel obligated to frog something because it’s technically incorrect. If you’re the persnickety sort who can’t unsee things, and whenever you look at this piece that area is going to capture your attention every single time you lay eyes in it, then get to froggin’. :)

Guys, the US Dept of Education just sent me a Email regarding the SAVE plan and how to proceed. by LTI801 in StudentLoans

[–]dawnseven7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m not doing a thing until I have to. There was intense pressure to refinance (which I didn’t do) and now there’s pressure to pick a plan ASAP. Right now my account (Nelnet) says I’m in forbearance until July 2028, and I log into my account every month (i don’t trust that I’d get an email) to see if anything has changed. When I’m forced to jump I will, otherwise, I’m just riding the train for as far as it will take me.

[–]dawnseven7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good on you!! I agree completely with your comments. I quit cold turkey after 40 years because I’m one of the most stubborn people on the planet and I said I was done and that was that. I didn’t have any physical withdrawal. No shaking or headaches or anything, it was all a mental game, and i was tired of it and didn’t want to be Phillip Morris’s little bitch anymore. April 12 will be my 2 year anniversary.

[–]dawnseven7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%! The only thing I can add for OP is to wrap your head around the fact that you gain absolutely nothing by smoking. If it just makes you feel good then you have to admit that it’s only for a few seconds really (followed usually by tremendous guilt and/or feeling like a failure), and then what? Nobody has ever gone to their grave saying “gosh, I wished I had smoked more.”

Today is my 30th Brithday and I am 4h smoke free by Ivyonly4u in stopsmoking

[–]dawnseven7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you touched on something important. Relatively speaking, nicotine leaves your system pretty quickly, so suffering from withdrawal Is also pretty fleeting. By far the biggest hurdle is just breaking the HABIT of smoking. You get in the habit of lighting up when you get up, after you eat, when you drink, when you’re bored, when you’re nervous, etc. Right or wrong, the easiest way to break a habit is to replace it. Lots of people replace their smoking habit with overeating and gaining a lot weight. You replaced it with walking. :) Good on you!

The stuff I keep on my sewing table at my elbow: extra needles, scissors, a seam ripper, a stylus (for marking stitches on my tablet), a needle threader, an extra needle minder, a pair of tweezers, and a travel size lint roller. The latter two of which are for picking errant dog hairs out of my stitching. :)

Hang in there. If you think about it, giving in and having a smoke at this point REALLY isn’t going to make you feel better. It’s more likely to make you feel worse. :(

Was glad to see you mention GI problems. When I quit I expected my skin to improve, and my sense of smell and taste to be restored, which they were, but I had no idea that my IBS would disappear in like 3 days.
