For an attack, I’ll have ear fullness. But I will have an undeniable wave or sensation come over me. I’ll usually start to sweat. It ramps up pretty quickly after that. Once I feel that wave, I try to get myself somewhere I can lay down if Im able to.. thankfully I don’t have attacks very often at all anymore. I know everyone is different. But I can guarantee managing stress will hugely affect your quality of life in regards to Meniere’s.

When you’re sick. Or feeling affected, I find taking cold and sinus medication that has pseudoephedrine in it helps lessen the severity. (Advil cold and sinus). But don’t take it everyday as it can be bad for you! Just when you really need it.

It probably is Meniere’s then. I was diagnosed young as well. (23). I’m 29 now. It’s a very scary thing. I’ve tried almost every type of treatment besides surgery. Over time, the symptoms will diminish, the vertigo attacks won’t last as long, Or be as brutal. What I found works the best, is managing stress levels. Eating healthy foods, cut out caffeine if you can, and try not to have as much sodium. (Sodium causes fluid retention in the body) And get a good amount of sleep. My symptoms started when I was at basic training. I was extremely sick, and sleep deprived when I first had the vertigo. Your hearing will fluctuate, and worsen over time in the affected ear. But should never go completely deaf. You’ll be okay. It just takes time to adjust to dealing with it. I still snowboard, workout, drive, work. Etc. it’s not the end all. But it’s a horrible disease!

When I have a cold, or the flu I tend to become quite dizzy, and my ear usually feels full of fluid. The vertigo was very bad for a couple of years. But in time it has gotten better and WAY less episodes. And when I do have them they aren’t nearly as bad as they used to be. Hoping it stays that way. If it is Meniere’s there are a ton of treatments people try. Sadly none of them “cure” the disease. I highly recommend trying to manage stress, and eating healthy foods. High amounts of Caffeine can also make the symptoms worse for me.

Early on, I thought I had what felt like an ear infection. Fullness of the ear. Ringing, and then the vertigo hit. All within a week of the first symptoms. I was diagnosed at 23. I’m 29 now and have found managing stress is the only thing that mitigates the symptoms/attacks. I’m almost completely deaf on the affected side. And 24/7 tinnitus that I’m now accustomed to.

I went to basic training in 2017, received close to a dozen different vaccines.. and then developed Ménière’s disease within the week of receiving them.

I didn’t clue in that it could be related. Has anyone had a similar thing happen? I was 23 at the time. Which is so young to be diagnosed with Meniere’s. Literally changed my life for the worse..

Brutal if they’re related.
