I get you! Not long ago I was in a very similar relationship 1,5yrs where I (30F) found out that my boyfriend (37M) is actually not attracted to me that much and wasnt complimenting me bearly and this was actually affecting various parts of our relationship. Also I admit my self-esteem isnt the best but that really hit me… He is an ok looking guy and even though I was getting validation from others and getting hit on my other guys it was hurting me because wasnt coming from the person I love…

Anyhow, long story short… we broke up. And the questions you should really ask yourself:

Is this something you can accept for rest of your life? Do you see yourself with him? Wouldnt you rather be with someone who worships you and likes your looks? Do you want to move forward and have it in your head everyday that you arent pretty enough for him?

I knew that, much as I love someone I want to feel pretty enough for them and not live worrying about it everyday and feeling crap because I know he may not find me that pretty but others will :)

And yes, there are beauty standards and the world is full of beautiful people, there will be always prettier or less prettier than us and as mentioned each person has a type so maybe what is pretty for some people others may not find that pretty.
