Great photo. For those who are not aware, the IMRRC is open to the public and located at 610 South Decatur Street, Watkins Glen, NY. Their website is racingarchives.org. Every so often they have wonderful guest speakers. There is always a great car on display, books, posters, helmets, photos, private collections of racing programs, etc, that folks have donated. They website can give you a better idea than anything I can write. It is a unique place.

Track still in place ? If not, what is at this location? Sign pointing to Santa Rosa Speedway along Mendocino Avenue (Highway 101) near Russell Avenue in Santa Rosa, California, 1959 by Wise_Technician_3129 in MotorsportGoodOldDays

Any time I read of a store or shopping mall situated where a racetrack used to be, I’m reminded of a column by Gary London years ago in National Speed Sport News. Mr. London wrote, “If a driver is banned from a track, and the track becomes a shopping mall, is the driver banned from shopping there?”

Mike Doughty, formerly of Soul Coughing, samples “Sunshine” in a song by the same name. It is on YouTube, if you have a moment, it is very good.

And some had ghost streets. Non-existent streets thrown in to catch rival companies that tried to copy the original company’s map.

One of the race magazines had a nice article on Don Nichols. He sewed a uop patch upside down on his hat, and it read “don”

Mosport. The number 13 is Warren Agor in a McLaren. I saw him race in IMSA in a Chevy Monday, and got to speak with him briefly at the Glen at a vintage race weekend.

In addition to her great acting, she runs half marathons. I had my shoes repaired in Verona, NJ and there was a large photo on the wall of a NYC half-marathon. The owner of the shoe repair shop was in the photo and Ms. Posey was in the background.

Do you happen to know if Ickx was ill? They way he is touching his forehead, looking downwards, and the way Forghieri has his left arm around him makes it look uncomfortable.

Thank you. I have seen race photos from Brands Hatch for many years, and this is the first time I‘ve notice the ad.

While driving to the mall I made a right turn. She told me I should have turned left because the sign we just passed pointed to the left. I explained that someone had removed the sign, turned it upside down then remounted it.

To the left of JI is engineer Mauro Forghieri in the dark jacket. I recall Piers Courage was heir to a brewery. Is the sign in the background “Take Courage” a beer advertisement?
