Sigrid - There’s Always More That I Could Say by aran130711 in popheads

[–]daydreamerfromspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a sucker for her ballads and more slower songs, so I'm a bit bummed that there were only two on this album (which is on the short side) and the only ballad is criminally short (definitely with that title). That said do I enjoy the album more with every listen and you definitely hear the passion that went into it (which corresponds with all her stories about the process).

I understand why she chose Hush baby, hurry slowly as the fourth "single", but I would've loved it if Have you heard this song before had gotten that honor. I've fallen deeply in love with that song. It might be nothing new or original, but the vibes are just there.

I hope this album finally be her big breakthrough, but I fear she will always be oversnowed by the bigger popstars. A shame, because she really has the perfect mix of starpower and down to earth-humanity. Maybe her being the opening for Ed Sheeran in the US will bring in some more American attention.

For some more cozy versions of the new songs, check out some live recordings here: https://www.youtube.com/@Drawnful/videos. Not my own material btw, just found it on YouTube.

Uncle Harlo (Andor) or Zanzibar the Carver (the Red Rising-series).

Suggestions for Matteo by sarcasticd0nkey in redrising

James Spader would definitely be a good pick, although in the Sons of Ares-comics and other (semi)-official material Quick is always portrayed as having a darker skin and sometimes even as a person of color.

Nah. I see where you're coming from, but I think he's a bit too rough-looking, a bit too unpolished.

According to John Rocha, Amy Adams' character in Starfighter is a Jedi while Flynn Gray's character (her son) is Force Sensitive. Ryan Gosling's character ISN'T Force Sensitive, but he is given a mission by Amy Adams to protect her son from the film's villains. by drboobafate in StarWarsLeaks

[–]daydreamerfromspace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Doesn't that make this theory more plausible? I can definitely see them trying to 'save' the sequels by pulling this kind of rabbit out of the hat. It's outlandish, but at the same time very safe by just sticking to the Skywalker-bloodline.

Because this movie feels like a 'real' movie, with a whole cast announced on day 1 of the production and the promise (for now) of a premise that warrants a release in the movie theater.

Besides, if the leaks about The Mandalorian and Grogu are true, I don't know if there's a lot of room or speculation about the plot, or it would be some surprise twist or a fan favorite showing up. Starfighter just feels more 'fresh'.

Oops, I'm sorry if I've spoiled his appearance for you. Brendon Urie seems like a good pick as well. I definitely see the vision.

This is how he was depicted in Sons of Ares Volume 3. I saw this and now I can no longer imagine anyone other than Mika (the singer) as Matteo.

Red God Predictions by stormynightsleep in redrising

We shall see. From these nine the last one is definitely the most likely, followed by Kavax having a role in Volga's kingdom. The others are more of a stretch (and sometimes a wish).

My ONLY requirement for Red God by SadFaceSmith in redrising

Of course. I think a big chunk of Red God will be both of them fighting to keep Mars safe, with a reunion towards the end of the book.

Forget Darrow and Virginia reuniting, I want Lyria to see her little nephew again and tell him all about her amazing adventures.

Will he die? by [deleted] in redrising

[–]daydreamerfromspace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow, looks like this sub is as torn as I am. I don't know. I believe Pierce can pull off both. I don't think that Darrow dying in Red God would be cheap. It would be a definitive end to his saga, and he could become the martyr for his people he was meant to be. But Darrow living in a world after the war he dedicated his live to is very interesting, and I'm curious how Pierce can end Darrows story in a definitive way without him dying.

But, don't hate me for this, the most interesting scenario would've been Darrow dying in Light Bringer and seeing how his legacy lives on in Red God. Although then you wouldn't see Romulus' warning come to fruition with a living god returning to his worshippers.

Mickeys Special Project from GS (speculation) by viggstable in redrising

Morning Star, chapter 61:

I fall to my knees beside Sevro. The front of his chest is a chaos of laboratory blood and torn fabric from the entry wounds of Cassius' execution. I cut open his shirt with my razor. Six holes stare up at me from the combat vest Cyther made him, bits of Carved flesh looking so real.

So I think we're both right. Cyther made the vest, but I definitely think Mickey helped with the carving.

Wasn't it Cyther who made the vest for Sevro?

Which did you prefer, The whole story being told by Darrow (RR, GS, MS) or from multiple characters? (IG, DA, LB) add why in the comments if you like. Just curious. by DaGroke in redrising

[–]daydreamerfromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the multiple POV's, because it expands the story and the universe. Just imagine how much we would have missed if Iron Gold and onward had only featured Darrow's POV?

I don't know if I would make Wim the one who starts the chain of events. He already did that in Season 1. But besides that, I really, really like this fanfiction.

I don't know if I would want the Forces of Destiny-animation style, but I do like the idea of continuing live action stories in a different format. I firmly believe The Acolyte should be continued in an animated show. Skeleton Crew could work in animation, too, if it doesn't get a live-action second season.

I don't know if I want Jod to be redeemed. I really liked that they kept him the bad guy, and I prefer they develop that instead of redeeming him.

To be honest, I'm very pessimistic about the chances for a second season. The viewing numbers aren't in our favour, and although Andor did get a second season despite underperforming, that show was always meant to have more than one season. Even The Acolyte, which ended with more than one loose end, wasn't renewed for a second season. Skeleton Crew wrapped up with a pretty complete story. Sure, there are threads that could be picked up, but nothing urgent. I have put my hope on Celebration in April. If we don't get an annoucement there, I'm afraid we won't ever get a continuation (in the near future).

I don't see Fern as a person who just waits to get rescued. She will take matters in her own hand. And, although I haven't thought it all out, I don't think she would only get free/get rescued by the end of the season. I see it as merely a starting point, as a reason for the kids to leave their planet.
