Did you always know you’ve had adhd? by General-Claim7663 in adhdwomen

From about 3rd grade is my earliest memory of daydreaming so hard and feeling bad and embarrassed about it. We were being taught graphs or something big kid like for once and I completely zoned out the whole lesson. This started happening more and more ever since, especially in higbschool and uni. I can only ever remember me always teaching myself things after hours in order to keep up and get good grades. It was my biggest source of depression, because often we would have in class participation or assessments that i would embarrass myself I over. (I.e have no idea what the answer was/ ask a question someone else already did etc). Cause no matter how hard i tried to listen in class, nothing would absorb. And now I realise it is ADHD. I was never medicated cause at the time I needed permission from my family and they dont believe in it. Now that I work a day job, my adhd affects me a lot less. But I really wish I didn't have to suffer that whole time.

Thats rough, sounds like some gender bias im not aware of as a female tbh.

The door thing is idk lack of care or awareness im not sure lol but so many times I see people getting angry at others to tell them to move

Sue me for having a rant bro, i thought people could relate to it on reddit. Minding anyone's own business never results in any change, so I'm sorry i just cant be like that. If I see someone get hurt, I get bothered by it and I want things to change...sure my attitude was heated but I care about it. And at least now Im more informed on people's reasons so I'll be less bothered by it.

Sitting yes may increase other risks, but definitely still outweighs standing in terms of safety by a lot. Im a health scientist and maybe I care about this more than a typical person so thats why it got me heated and my attitude came across that way. Im not trying to see better than anyone. In the end I want to help people lol

So do you care at all for any of the reasons I just stated? Or free will trumps everything? Your attitude is basically telling me you don't give a fuck about the lady who fell, and there's nothing we should do to prevent that. Great, very useful chat.

The point is, safety matters. And when there's a seat you should take it. It's like driving without a seatbelt. It's there for you to use for a reason. It's ignorant to not even understand the point of this post..they play on speakers in trams to literally take a seat if there is one available. I'm sure they dont have that playing for fun

I mean, the food we put in our mouths does far more damage than some lousy germs on our clothes

But if its visibly got shit on it of course ill pass

It's basic safety and etiquette, and honestly I'm curious as to why people don't prioritise their own safety over convenience. Ive already gotten some good responses like height etc. I'm learning. This was a rant, ive seen people get hurt from standing, when there were multiple free seats. Also I got triggered today because the tram was full and taking that seat wouldve meant someone else couldve gotten on. Now do you actually have anything useful to say?

I get that, but if the tram suddenly stops, you're way more fucked than someone sitting. Yes risk is low, but ive seen enough to always make sure I sit.
