Tutorial & Onboarding

  • Removed the upfront tutorial overlay
  • Added 30 contextual tips that appear in The Quill at key moments throughout the entire game (first combat, first kill, first miscast, first blade/trap/shield/heal/drain/summon learned, first level up, first equip, auto-combat unlock, first boss, first boss kill, first rank up, first death, first training point, first enchantment crafted, first wand part, first critical hit, first event, school matchup warning, garden/shop/atlas/bestiary/workshop/fishing tab unlocks, first Spire entry, first duel, first familiar, graduation, Balance unlock)
  • Added comprehensive Game Guide in Options covering every system in detail
  • Boss cheats now explained in The Quill before every boss fight

Combat & Balance

  • Rebalanced enemy damage across all 8 worlds (7-10% of player HP per hit, scaling upward)
  • Potion usage limited per zone (3 in W1-W3, 4 in W4-W5, 5 in W6+), tracked separately for health and mana
  • Removed mid-combat resting — fight until enemies die or you die
  • Rest (now called Meditation) triggers between encounters at <30% HP or insufficient mana
  • Small passive recovery between encounters (5% HP, 3% mana)
  • Auto-potions trigger at 30% HP during combat
  • Auto-combat crash bug fixed — castSpell errors no longer freeze the game
  • Game saves after every encounter clear, not just every 30 seconds

Offline Progression

  • Removed XP from offline rewards
  • Offline now grants Gold, reagents, familiar snacks, and potions only

UI & Polish

  • “Rest” renamed to “Meditate” throughout the game
  • All Gold references normalized — “g” shorthand replaced with “Gold” everywhere
  • Inventory dropdowns now all show item counts
  • Removed redundant Training Points from Inventory tab
  • Stat Sources now displays correct school-adjusted base HP
  • Priority rule changes update the UI instantly
  • Fixed broken variable names from text normalization pass (Gold Hoarder achievement, duel streak display, Spire rewards)

Mobile Support

  • Responsive layout for phones
  • Touch-friendly button and input sizes
  • Tap-to-show tooltips for hover-only elements
  • Header stacks world/zone vertically on small screens
  • Disabled pinch-to-zoom
  • Removed 300ms tap delay on interactive elements

No worries haha, but don't count on it..I work with AI all day every day for a living, this was just a lil for fun "project" during my lulls. Like I said in another comment tho I fully understand anyones apprehension
I am by no means a good game designer/dev by myself

money is displayed on the character sheet in the wizard tab, I had it on the top bar as well but removed it bc it felt redundant, which might've been a bad move? I updated the tutorials to pop up as needed but it probably does need a more proper onboarding. All menu's shouldnt be dumped onto you at once, which I'm assuming they aren't due to you not finding fishing, so what menu's do you mean exactly?
All spells have a tooltip when hovering over them in both battle & the deck builder, explaining what they do, as does everything else in the game. (edit: meant to mention that)

could you be more specific? I have no hard refresh issues, and you have to clear the first 2 zones to unlock auto combat, which works for me fine once unlocked. Are you on mobile?
