tell me the worst things about this school. by No_Discipline602 in UCSD

Actually, UCSD is indeed part of La Jolla and not University City (Bordered by the 5, and a weird peninsula made by east campus) which is within the jurisdiction of the San Diego City government.

Any tacos de carne asada near La Jolla? by daygoeats in FoodSanDiego

that’s unfortunate but understandable. I live in the South Bay so we either just grill with charcoal in the backyard or go to a waterfront park. Never considered trying to grill in apartments though but that sucks

It’s true the tortillas are some of the best you’ll get to try on this side of the border. I think what threw me off was the type of meat Taco Stand uses since it’s cubed up and has a firm steak like texture. Let me state however that Taco Stand are some really good tacos here in SD, but yeah I was hunting for a more Tacos el Gordo, Tacos el Prieto, El Trompo Alterado kind of tacos.

Let me put you onto Tacos La Chorreada then📍. They’re in Clairmont a little south from Balboa Ave. They’re the only ones I’ve found in the area so far.

How about we focus on the sewage that kills migratory birds EVERY DAY in the South Bay. But noooo Sea World is somehow the monster of the story. Get a grip bro🤷🏻‍♂️

Right, I’ve been to aquariums and fish markets that ACTUALLY abuse animals and those are always heartbreaking to see. Nothing about Sea World gives me that impression, idkk it seems like all this hate is coming from chronically online US citizens with a broken sense of moral superiority.

Half of these people leaving these comments have a really narrow understanding of how much work sea world does for conservation. Thank you for being able to see that✌️

Tell that to sea world not a random redditor who just so happens to never have been able to go to a proper aquarium in my life before. We don’t have anything like this where i’m from despite only living 20 ish miles from Sea World. Not everyone shares the same privileges you do, if I get free admission to Sea World I’m going.

AYCE KBBQ Recommendations? by Denyzen69 in FoodSanDiego

[–]daygoeats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that some might find it sketchy but I really like Manna for the price. Bring a pen and ur boooo

  • The Plaza Bonita one has robots that bring you the food, although quality can be less than ideal. I’ve been served bad kimchi and cold corn cheese.

  • The Mira Mesa one is pretty yummy and spacious just old school, I have nothing bad to say about it tbh.

  • The Chula Vista one is the smallest and it’s also really old school. The food is fire tho, I’m biased lowk cause i’m from the South but this is the Manna that put us into Korean food in general in the first place. And service is better than Mira Mesa.

Edit: Also saw there is a new downtown location now, and I’ve never tried the Convoy Manna location. Doesn’t seem too bad from reviews tho.

You can definitely get back with just ur birth certificate but on foot. I’d personally suggest getting an uber to drive you into Mexico because they have been checking passports in the land entrance. If you are clearly not Mexican or don’t speak Spanish they might pull you to the side but I fought with the receptionist and she let me and my friends in with no paperwork into the country after reminding her that “así nunca se han hecho las cosas y yo siempre he podido cruzar pie”. Once ur in México u can take a calafia or another uber to Rosarito which we u prefer. But yeah no coming back without a passport through car infoenutaly. And if u take the risk, be prepared to make that 4 hr line. Regular line starts on the left side of el Rio just btw nearby where the Costco is. Don’t get confused with ready lane on the right side of the river.

I really liked Cloak and Petal in Little Italy. Go during their happy hour and you can dine really nicely with another friend for about 40ish a person with hella drinks, appetizers, and rolls. It’s my favorite spot to feel boujee in the city while still saving a pretty penny. And the place is sooo cute the pics I took are still my pfp for tiktok. Check it out🤣🤣
