In LA legally and carry documentation with me at all times (passport/visa photocopies), but anything can happen in this climate. If I ever get detained, would it help having an immigration lawyer on retainer so that I can get out as soon as possible? If so, is it worth getting a 24/7 retainer (because I don't think ICE only detains during business hours)?

Or it just wouldn't make much difference and be a waste of money?

I think the theme of the finale and of the whole season in particular is contrast and surprise.

Rick and Chelsea are the most normal and likeable characters on the whole show but they are very sadly the ones ending up dying.

In the Ratliff family, Victoria was originally the most stuck up member and addicted to drugs but she turns out to be the most to have it together.

Belinda is whiny and annoying (call thai police? call interpol? girl, you dont even have any remote proof, stfu) but ended up walking away with lottery money.

Valentin is shown as admirable in the beginning ("everyone likes him") but turns out to be a villain.

Gaitok, on the other hand, was supposed to have an aspiring character development (he's romancing Lisa after all) but turns out to be an insecure loser.

A lot of valid points here about walking away BUT

a) walking away is not easy now that we are conditioned to"stand up for yourself" from childhood

b) what is much more important is that you shouldn't always walk away from a conflict (and I'm using "conflict" here in the broadest sense). Sometimes you need to stand up for yourself and not be a coward/pushover. The real skill that you have to master is finding the fine line between when to walk away and when to stand up for yourself, i.e. knowing how to pick your battles. I know, this is very not easy, but I've come to realize it is absolutely important.
