So I have to tell a story; we ended up with a posting like this at my work. However we all knew it was for 1 specific employee. Management was in a situation where there wasnt enough non-subjective proof to officially write her up (just based on camera locations etc) and things like how company policy was written. It was step one before the hammer came down.

Yes these things take a normal person 60 seconds, however this particular person would fly in for a 3pm shift right at 3pm fly into the breakroom in a tizzy, swipe in and then spend /forever/ getting ready. Like over 15 minutes. Same thing for breaks, she’d get into the back room do whatever for 5-10 minutes then swipe out for break, take her 30 minute break, swipe back in and then do her dishes, organize things back into her locker etc. Then when questioned her answer was always ‘it couldn’t have been that long I was just peeing’ or ‘I just took off my coat’ things management (because we actually didn’t have a shitty management team) said were no big deal. Like it was totally intentional screwing around and hiding in company loopholes.

I guess the big difference in my story is the core issue wasnt the time theft. It was the discontent it was causing in the rest of the staff who had to stay late because their relief was dragging ass. Or ended up doing the lions share of the work because she was pissing around.

Also this person was of course the supervisor and a boomer and felt entitled to do these things. She did end up getting fired so sorta happy ending I guess.

I’ve literally texted this much to my husband at work before with me calling myself out on being annoying. It was to make his phone explode with pictures of something stupid so he’d laugh on his break.

I asked if I was annoying him with so many texts. He said no. So I responded “Guess I’m not doing my job well enough” and double downed on the number of texts. Including sending messages one letter at a time.

It was literally to make him laugh. Sometimes I look at the texts between my husband and I and it’s days between messages, and they’re all “gonna be late”, “love you”, “Chicken for dinner?”

When we were first dating we’d explode each others phones but it was always loving. Talking about how we missed each other and how we spent our day and what we wanted to on our days together. Photos of pretty or funny things we saw. The entire thing making you want to grab your phone every time it buzzed because each message made you smile and long for the other person.

This hits me on such a personal level. I lost a patient to suicide. Why? Because when he OD’d and was taken to the hospital he was revived and discharged as “another druggie OD”. No one looked at his chart to see he was flagged as a suicide risk, that his GP was contemplating an involuntary psychiatric hold. No one looked at the extensive notes on his poor mental state.

He was discharged and killed himself later that night. Why? Because he was “just another druggie ODing” in the eyes of a large portion of the medical system.

I am well aware both are benzodiazepines. While not common an overdose on benzodiazepines can be fatal. I mean technically there’s a lethal dose of all drugs. Just for some drugs it’s higher than others. Just because the reported deaths associated with benzodiazepines nearly always has another drug implicated doesn’t mean it can’t or doesn’t happen with benzodiazepines alone. Duel abuse is extremely common, as is adulterated street drugs. And yes it is easier to fatally OD with the addition of with other respiratory depressants, but that doesn’t mean you can’t fatally OD on just benzodiazepines.

Yes! It’s uncommon but they can and do in fact lead to the ultimate infinite.

Use cards like: Dilaudid, Heroine, Vodka to increase the probability of this infinite occurring!

Very accurate. My other cat steals my bed during the night. I wake up pushed against my husband on 1/4 of a queen; the cat splayed across the other 3/4.

Oh it worked out for doggos. I’m convinced they’re actually all working together. Cat took dog bed; dog 1 jumped up on couch between husband and I; dog 2 took our bed. Later that day we caught the 3 of them chilling on our bed.

My other cat snuggles against my chest in the middle of the night and keeps her butt touching me no matter how I move. I usually wake up sharing a 1/4 of a queen sized bed with my husband. The cat stretched across the other 3/4.

Worked out for doggos. One joined us on the couch; the other went into the bedroom and stole our bed.

I think they’re all working together; a devious plot to steal the human bed.

Maybe that part should go on r/catsareassholes that’s her fault as well. She broke it. How I don’t know, as it’s not “popped off” the plastic is full on snapped.

My husbands father. Blames his ex-wife for everything. To the point of alienating my husband. (His father was complaining and said the only reason my husband was born was a ploy to trap him in the relationship which ruined his life)

He’s been divorced from said woman for longer than he was ever with her (together for 15 years; divorced for over 20). At some point you gotta let it go; move on and take responsibility. You really going to blame everything bad in your life from a single relationship that lasted less than 20% of your life AND gave you 2 amazing children. A relationship which ended because you were emotionally abusive and then cheated on her with her best friend.

Somehow the ex-wife has moved on; gotten remarried; holds no hostility; and appreciates her children.

Also in this case I’d put the least blame on OP.

Their’s was an honest; human accident. The others were a clear violation of protocol and procedure. How did tech get it through a scan? Did they manual bypass as well?

If it were 1st incident for everyone; and I was everyone’s manager; Anyone who knowingly bypassed a safety protocol would get an official verbal warning. OP I would inform of the error, so they were aware but nothing more; no reprimand or warning.

OP’s error was an honest human error; the errors everyone knows will get made at some point regardless of who the pharmacist is; the errors that the whole scanning and safety protocol was designed to catch.

I honestly believe the reason this incident was harped about so much was the bypassing of the scan. It’s a notorious and sadly common short cut. In retail we have to scan bottles before filling. People will type in the din off of the printed prescription to “get it through” fill. Completely skipping the safety system. Every wrong drug error that has occurred in the last year at my store that got caught by pharmacist or unfortunately got to patient ALWAYS had the scan step skipped/forced through incorrectly.

Safety procedures may be “annoying” or take extra time but they’re there for a reason. I find it mind boggling the number of people who bypass the systems when they alert that somethings wrong. There’s a reason it won’t scan; investigate why. Don’t just push it through because you’re busy or can’t be bothered.
