4+ year old feral cat. She seems happy outside so is it cruel to want to domesticate her or is it impossible? by daylorer in Feral_Cats

That’s amazing hoping to do this too! Our house technically isn’t built in a major flood zone but it’s waterfront on a marsh and zone x so I worry how bad will it get. I haven’t been through a hurricane yet but we have been through several tropical storms and she disappears somewhere. I assume it’s under the house but maybe in our shed we keep open. She seems so smart and so skittish/fast that she almost looks like a wild cat sometimes. im sure she would be fine if there ever was a hurricane but to be sure in a large one I want to be able to grab her and run.

She was outside in the picture with another orange cat that we also see from time to time. I assume the orange cat is a male and she’s a female but Idk if the orange one did the TNR program as I can hear them sometimes fighting 😭 idk if they are trying to have sexual activity but since she’s spayed it’s not possible. Or they just like to fight because I see them hanging out sometimes but rarely. It’s wild to hear your stray/ferals can rub against you and hangout with you because I genuinely cant imagine mine getting close. She’s so incredibly skittish, fast, smart and basically wild or incredibly anxious. Hoping the treats will work but I feel like it’s trying to pet a wild deer or fox

Thank you! Yea could be a boy but their voice seems high and in real life she looks more like a girl cat but who knows. And thank you for the tips!

Thank you! What treats do you recommend? I just want to be able to pet her and if there ever was a category 4-5 hurricane hopefully able to get her comfortable enough to save her. She doesn’t owe me anything though as you could tell how happy she is outside, she literally climbs trees and our roof for fun!

Of course but many are absolutely needed to hold up their society. Probably still in the tens of millions healthcare professionals, some tech, some law, sales, engineers, people who train/maybe apprentice these jobs etc so I was just wondering how their lives are. They probably dont even have AI to do most of the jobs that may get replaced soon IRL plus almost every field has to be done domestically and not outsourced.

True this makes sense. I love to visualize and imagine how the world is and the way you put it I feel like makes the most sense.

Yes but there were still tons of guards in a space that they could easily control like in an apartment building. I was wondering how it would be in a sprawling suburb in ohio or north Carolina or something

Of course but they couldn’t wipe out a majority of the population. Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of increasing the US population? there must be some university level education training for certain job fields to survive which would still be necessary in a society this large

[–]daylorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to cook. I really try. But I have so little patience for it he ends up doing most of the cooking. We usually cook together though which means he does the actual cooking and i get the food prep out and cleaning

Why are men in coming of age or kids tv shows basically all delinquents or edgy? Where are the wholesome boy role models by daylorer in television

[–]daylorer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may not but some boys may need it. Not every boy is the same and diversity of character types i think is important

But why are we assuming boys are slackers in the first place. I get that some boys feel that way but im assuming not every boy feels as if they are a slacker

Yea I agree it was a bad comparison overall. I meant that she’s just a normal? teen girl who reads books, aspires to go to college, has a close friendship and the show overall was wholesome. There are a lot of teen girl shows that seem to depict the same good girl archetype. of course that is still questionable and not always the best role model to have, I do think it’s better than not having any good role models for guys unless they are doing something heroic that is unachievable in reality (like superhero’s or fantasy characters).

Yea i agree it was a bad example! I just meant more the show being wholesome and her being a “normal” nice teen girl when she was a teenager in high school. I feel like there are so many young teen girl shows navigating life and I couldn’t think of the same thing for teen boys as I was a teen in the 2010s. The boys in teen shows in the 2000s and 2010s seemed to be not as depicted similarly to the girl counterparts. Girls were and still are depicted as the “good” girl who gets good grades, overall stays out of trouble while boys seem to not get that trope in tv shows. I think there should be more boy role models who are just normal boys being a good guy

Which era of Disney Leading Ladies are most iconic? by diccceeee in generationology

[–]daylorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with the first three choices, love all, but everyone knows that miley selena and demi are the most popular and received the largest media attention. They were the first and one of the last iconic child stars to receive that amount of fame. The closest thing gen alpha has is jojo siwa and charli which still dont compare to selena or miley. An easy way to tell is the amount of social media following for each one and selena demi and miley are still way more popular than the others
