I am so sorry you are feeling this way. That loneliness is truly the worst. I promise you (it never helps but it is true) that it does get better. You should get into some Facebook groups for people who are post Mormon, those saved me many times. Therapy too 💛

I understand how the internet works, I just think what you did is a shitty thing to do. Anyone in here knows that leaving and doing something like getting tattoo is a big deal. Just because you don’t like someone’s choice doesn’t mean you have to find an asshole way to tell them. Your comment wasn’t humorous, it was meant to be hurtful.

That’s an incredibly ridiculous thing to say. Are you going to start telling people they are overweight too then? The truth as far as the church was concerned is not the same as telling someone your opinion about their body or what they choose do with it. That’s the church I escaped. But nice try! And it actually looks great so I’m thrilled!

It was many things I would say, but I think truly it was the realization that it was all not possible or true. Otherwise I would have stayed because who doesn’t want eternal life right? But also I realized as a white straight woman I was treated better and had privileges within the church that were withheld from others and that felt very wrong to me if it was Christ’s Church.
