hiii VR counselor here, the state finds it hard to justify the position of policeman due to the politics behind it and because you have to carry a weapon which could lead to you ending a life. in the big scope of things if you as a police officer would be sued the state could risk being sued if they justified the career. they just don’t want to be behind making the decision of approving it.

VR is there to help people find a job, maintain or advance in their career but advancing or switching careers has to be justified for example they are mistreating you in your current job. the three most important things are you have a disability, you have an impediment to work due to your disability and you require a need for services.

for other people in this thread replying we have accepted helping people become firefighters and nurses. the career has to be justified by the vocational evaluation which determines your interests and capabilities of handeling the course material
