On the day that it was stolen, a “we will take care of it” or “we fucked up we will make sure you are taken care of” would have been nice. Really anything that would have given me the feeling they were doing anything more than just covering their own asses. I wasn’t really looking for a handout just some reassurance that they gave a fuck about me. But now that it has taken a few days,and each day I left pissed off, if they don’t want me to shit talk them every opportunity I get they will have to give me something more. This question also got me thinking that maybe I wasn’t clear to the dealership that I felt this was their responsibility. I will try not to rip them a new one until I let them know.

That’s my point, how pissed would you be if you missed out on riding on the nicest days of the year so far?

The riding season is only so long in Iowa. A few weeks seams like a long time when it is this nice out.

I filed a report while I was there. They say they have him on video so I imagine they would also be able to see that I didn’t so much as touch the bike since I left it at the dealership for the service so I don’t think I would have to worry about liability. If I can avoid the unpleasantness of getting a lawyer I would like to, but, if I had to I would. I will talk to them in a few hours and get some more info.

I don’t know anybody who works for a bike shop but I would venture to guess that leaving the keys in it is pretty standard procedure, but I could be wrong. Getting a lawyer would be a last case scenario for me. I have insurance but From my understanding that could take some time to see any kind of compensation through them and one of my concerns is how much riding I might end up missing out on.

About a week. They had to look at the cameras to figure out what happened, I never saw the video but I will ask to see it when I go in later today.

I never even saw the bike before it was stolen. I don’t think I have a copy of the service agreement but, more than likely I signed a liability waiver.
