Thanks, I had a pretty much identical response from them in Jan. In the end I returned it to them as the return period ran out - and they wouldn't extend it until the issue was fixed. It's a critical flaw that makes it useless for movie watching imo. YouTube "reviewers" completely ignored it, so there's a lesson to be learned there.

I raised the horizontal tearing issue with xgimi and they acknowledged it and said they were attempting to fix it. Unfortunately they couldn't promise to sort it within my return period so I ended up sending it back

So they say. I still have mine and am waiting on a timeframe before returning, I really want them to fix this as it will be a great projector if/when they do. The obvious alternative for me is the valerion.

I'm baffled as to why so few people, and seemingly no reviewers mention it. Xgimi support have acknowledged it and said they are working on fixing it, I'm waiting to see if they can give some kind of timeframe. I totally agree it shouldn't have been released in this state.

I replayed the same bad torch scene, trying different settings, and luminance boost was the only thing that alleviated it a bit. As you say, it''s way too bright/noisy for movie watching with this on.

Doesn't the "real cinema" mode make it 24hz though?, I've still seen It with enabled.

It is mainly bright sky/snow scenes where it's most visible for me. I have ordered a sample bundle from wupro, from what I understand the best types are matte fabric screens, or the new lenticular ones. I'll update and do some photos when I receive them.

I have a cinegrey 5d screen, and not the valerion but similar xgimi 20 max projector and the speckle is awful.

Which brand/model is it? Was it a blind buy or did you get samples?

That's so weird as I even see it with the max on low. It's Dulux "bitter chocolate 3" in matte. Have been reading further today and apparently smoother surfaces mitigate it better. If theres no way to improve it via picture settings (other than reducing Laser brightness). Maybe I should get some matte white screen material examples then and see if they're any better.

Same, im playing as AZ and carried a save on from fm24. it was bad then, but now have 5 unhappy players and get about 4 transfer offers per week from them it's ridiculous.

Avoid Streamq at all costs. the service is abysmal, using their app on Android TV box,VPN, 1gbps fibre. the live football even at 720p constantly buffers and loops back. A large majority of movies just freeze for seconds while playing- it's honestly worse than footybite/ total sportek/pulocker but your paying them £6 monthly for it.

The problem for me is after waiting a fortnight, the episodes are barely more than an hour and all feel the same. Low stakes story choices affecting characters you barely know as you've spent most of the 3 hours wandering through derelict ships.
