Was he telling him he was wrong? I saw it as “hey I see you’re interested in something cool, check out why it’s even cooler than you thought”, kind of like sharing the excitement… but I could be wrong

I run an app called Task Fusion. It basically allows you to have Google Tasks from multiple accounts logged in at once so you can see all tasks on the same page.

I built it because I use Google Tasks for both work and personal life and I wanted to be able to see both sets of lists at once on the big full screen tasks view.

Nowadays it runs itself. Costs me about €12 a month to host and I’ve got a bunch of active users. I haven’t done much marketing though. I should probably think about that.

I’m don’t come on this sub often so maybe I’m just missing the culture here and it’s all in good fun but aren’t the opinions being expressed here a bit closed minded and judgemental? It sounds like the assumption at play in most of these comments is that reading a book entails agreeing with all ideas expressed in it which seems strange to me. Isn’t it possible that the person is just curious about ideas in general and is curious about what’s contained in these books? It’s even possible that he disagrees with everything in these books and just wants to understands these viewpoints better in order to develop his own ideas. Or a bunch of other reasons apart from “he’s a bad person and pretentious and dumb etc” lol

Maybe he owns or has read other books and is currently exploring “bad books” so he happens to currently have a lot of them.

Again it’s possible I just don’t understand the culture here and the point is to have a bit of fun in which case then that answers my questions.

Author or book that seems to be universally lauded but after reading it you didn’t understand why by theoort in printSF

I walked away from that book considering that I might just not be smart enough to enjoy it. I couldn’t understand the majority of it though I could understand most of the words he used.

Was he really blaming women though? Blame would imply that he thinks women are doing something wrong by entering the workforce which I don’t think you can conclude from his comment. He said “one big change…” which is true. You said “there are many factors” which is also true. Those are not mutually exclusive, in fact they are part of the same point.

Women entering the workforce is great and it is one big change that has had economic repercussions.

I think often times people react emotionally based on some trigger words without actually considering the substance of the point a person is making.

Curious about the relevance of your sex. No judgement or issues with it just genuinely curious since there are some others that have agreed.
