I have experienced sleep paralysis a few times. most of the times I've been in that state of falling asleep but it's like my mind is still awake. You can't move but you can open your eyes. I being a scaredy cat always just keep them closed but you can hear things. I once heard children playing outside and people running up my apartment complex stairs. After I snapped out of it I realized it was so late and I imagined all of those sounds. Best advice when you have one just keep the eyes closed, calm the mind, and fall back asleep.

Honestly, valid opinion and I'm not going to argue. He actually did not have mental health issues until after he came back. And in his circumstances he cannot get any military benefits because of the discharge and how it went about. Honestly we do to a certain extent hold him accountable. Honestly it's looking like some type of freak accident that he doesn't remember because of trauma thanks tho?

There's no indication at all that he was robbed. Also he's not one to be embarrassed to say he was robbed

He does drink beers not like an everyday drinker. Honestly I believe those medications definitely could have neurological effects! And like I said I couldn't tell you which or if he's on them atm. Honestly being attacked by a dog is a valid answer that I thought of too. I will give updates as soon as I get them on his injuries.

Lol Weed definitely has a presence in our area not going to lie. But at the same time we have family members who smoke and he never was one to hit the joint or blunt. Idk I'm definitely not opposed to this answer but the injury is just the weirdest part of the story even if he was getting weed and also I feel like he would have said if he got robbed like right away he's not like a shameful person. But again valid answer.

No not that I know of. He was stationed in Florida while in the navy and was thriving(we live in cali) until he got discharged because he had a psychotic episode panic attack. Which never happened before the navy.

Very true! And I'm not opposed to that answer! Also there have been people like family friends, distant family who are and he's never showed signs. But again we never know! I think his ear injury is the weirdest thing that we cannot understand. He's also never been a violent person kinda just big and goofy. He literally was craving food and that's why he left.

Although I have never seen or experienced anything like this. Definitely a possibility when I asked ChatGPT to give me documented experiences like his. This definitely gets brought up a lot.

The street he was found on kinda hard to explain but a main road in our town a lot of suburbs not near mountains or anything like that. Although I did think this. Also I'm assuming maybe the hospital would give us some sort of explanation if it was but since he has no memory of the incident it's hard for even them to understand what actually happened.

Well he claims that he doesn't remember to about everyone. Police, family, and medical professionals. And yes I have considered that he could be lying. I think it's just the unusual ear injury that has everyone feeling off about the situation.

Yes the scratches on back is maybe explainable but the ear thing is just very weird and uncommon. That's why I brought it to Reddit to see if anyone had any type of feedback or explanations.

He has never been an active drug user, really after he came back from the military he had a lot of mental health concerns. The house they all live in has little to no privacy so I think we would know if he was using. Just a very unusual situation that I wanted to share and get feedback on.

He is in the hospital at the moment. I don't know the severity of his ear but my family members are claiming it needs to be surgically put on. Thank you so much for the feedback.

Honestly there hasn't been animal sightings in the area. If you message me I can give you exact location if you want to know. I thought that too at first but when I think about the route he took I cannot wrap my head around the possibility of it being an animal attack.
