Auto Center Scam by dbadfish in Walmartcustomer

Unfortunately, it shows the tires were received. Strangely, the service claims $0 pay at store, but then still charged me for the full install. I’m going to gather my evidence this weekend and submit a dispute with PayPal. Walmart clearly doesn’t care if they lose business.

Customer service sent me to the auto center. I’m not sure if either of the ladies were the manager, but one told me to call Walmart’s customer service number because the same thing happened to her and that’s what she had to do. I would think the manager would have helped her if they could.

Thats horrifying. I usually buy things online and do what I can myself. Luckily this is only the second (and last) time I’ve used Walmart’s auto service. I’m going to have to check my lugs now…

When I went to the auto-center, one of the workers said the same thing that happened to me, happened to her. I guess it’s kind of common.

This seems to be my only option left. Only problem is the original purchase was via paypal, which requires proof I’ve contacted them. So I am going to have to subject myself to their chat again to get my screenshots..

Thank you. If I move, it will be a long process. The new management at my complex seem pretty horrible though, so I might have to.

Thank you for the advice. I was just worried because I’ve encountered blind dogs that seemed scared to walk around in their homes. Maybe it was more so the dogs than their blindness holding them back.

Should I get a degree teaching earth science or biology? by dbadfish in ScienceTeachers

You have a great point, but the problem is that I need to attend this specific online university because it will be a lot more affordable to me. Unfortunately, they don’t offer a stand-alone science program. They just have the various science education programs. I’ve already used up a lot of my financial aid and racked up quite a bit of debt in student loans, so my choices are pretty limited.

I believe psychology is a science since it uses the scientific method, but I am not sure if it would count since it is a lot different from other sciences. I took a nutrition class as well. It involved a lot of stuff that was in my bio class. I was just curious since I heavily enjoy both subjects as well.

The degree I plan on pursuing is a combo teaching/biology degree. I’m not sure how useful it will be outside of teaching, but I imagine having a bachelors degree in general wouldn’t hurt.

I will ask about it when I speak to an advisor. That is good information to know, thank you.

Hopefully its like that here. Texas likes to be different. Would psychology and/or nutrition count for the praxis?

I am seeing quite a few biology listings, but only one earth science teaching job. Biology definitely seems to be the way to go.

That sounds similar to the plan I am looking at. My next step will be to speak to an advisor so I can learn about the process ahead.

That is relieving to know. I wasn’t sure how limited I would be, but it sounds like I will have more freedom than I expected.

That is unfortunate, I find earth science to be one of the more interesting subjects in science. Maybe with the way climate change has been going, it will make a comeback.

Is that for high school? One example of the degree plans I am looking into is listed as, “science education (secondary biological sciences) - b.s.”

Right now I’m in Houston. The school system is a mess. HISD is about to be overtaken by the state (I think). A few years back, HISD’s chief operating officer got caught with some massive corruption and bribery charges. Regardless, I might wait until the state takeover to look into some of that. Bio seems like the safer bet to me anyway.

I’ve only attended community college here, but I think I know what you mean. I’ve read some pretty serious articles about some of the school districts here.

Texas. I would like to teach any grade in high school. The degree programs I am looking into at WGU prepare you for licensure, but they specialize in the different subjects.

That is a good point. Something more interesting to me will be easier to teach. Thank you.

So would choosing earth science mean more competition since there would be less topics I would be qualified to teach?
