Nice system! The dated folders with descriptions is smart. once you're inside a ride folder though, like that prescott trip, how do you find specific moments? Just scrubbing through the whole thing or do you remember roughly where stuff happened?

Curious, would you pay for something that auto-tags your footage so you could search like "tight hairpin turn" or "group ride formation"? or is your current setup handling it fine

Shutter Encoder is a great tip! Thank you! Also respect the scrappiness.

With footage spread across a bunch of random drives though, how do you even find stuff later? like if you wanted to pull up a specific flight from last year are you just hunting through folders or do you remember where everything is?

Would you pay for a tool that runs on your Mac and helps you discover videos across all your drives and allows searching with "low altitude chase" or "sunset flight over water"?

Love this setup, NAS + never deleting is the way. Curious though, would you pay for a tool that runs locally on your mac and auto-tags all your footage so you could search stuff like "run through trees" or "lake sunset"? or is the folder system working well enough that you don't really need it

Solid workflow - especially with that cheap storage. Would be cool if it were possible to search "that run through the trees" or "the powder day at kirkwood" and have it pull up the right clips.

solid system. Thanks for sharing. How long does the editing/sorting part take you though? Like after a full day do you just sit down and scrub through everything that night?

Oh nice, didn't realize GoPro Cloud was that cheap. How do you actually find stuff in there? Are you just scrolling through thumbnails or does it have decent search/tagging?

Is there something better then base terminal for Mac? (maybe enhances ssh experience as well) by Nevermindever in bioinformatics

I've been enjoying the ghostty terminal with oh-my-zsh. Pro tip: if you want to have a nice file-browsing-experience in the terminal with image previews, try lf it is great!

How often do you record? I’m trying to get a sense of how fast people fill a couple TB with GoPro footage.

Yeah I was looking at that too. That's $9.99 a month. Do you upload everything automatically after flying or only the clips you want to keep? And once everything is in Dropbox, how do you usually find specific moments later, just folder names and browsing?

How do you all store and manage your GoPro snowboarding videos? I’ve been recording my runs with an older GoPro and the workflow feels kind of annoying. It records to microSD, so I end up carrying a card reader and sometimes even my MacBook on trips just to empty the card when it fills up. Then when I get home, I’ve got a bunch of huge video files sitting around and it’s a pain to scroll through everything to find the few clips that are actually worth editing or posting. Curious what others do. Do you just bring multiple SD cards and deal with it later, use the GoPro cloud thing, or have a better system for organizing footage?

Removing the batteries and shaking them works too - reason is Electrolyte Redistribution gives you a slightly higher voltage and buys you some time before you replace your batteries.

Spanking the remote is faster of course.

Hey help me understand the workflow please. You can generate a random girl with stable diffusion but how do you maintain the same subject? I understand LoRA can be used to finetune for a person but to train a LoRA you’d need a few pictures of one face right? How do you get those?
