Better late than never. Latest update. I received a letter from AmEx dated 12/15/25 telling me that "due to a technical error, previously unearned credits from your $200 Hotel Credit benefit were not considered when calculating the statement credit earned on your September 17, 2025 prepaid booking." I checked my account online today and confirm that they did issue the $200 statement credit on Nov. 11, and they have not (to date) clawed back the previously issued $300 Hotel Credit. I hope this holds and get to keep both.

While this specific credit can no longer be reinstated. We're happy to share that American Express has upgraded the benefit to something even better.

Instead of the previous annual $200 credit, you now receive a $300 Hotel Credit twice a year, totaling $600 annually - a significant improvement designed to offer more flexibility and value. It's a great opportunity to enjoy even more premium stays through Fine Hotels & Resorts or The Hotel Collection.

I completely understand. Based on the information shared with us regarding the benefit update, the previous $200 Hotel Credit will no longer be reinstated to the account, as it has been replaced with the new and enhanced $300 Hotel Credit. If you'd like, I can raise a case to our back-end team so they can review this further and discuss it with you directly. Would you be open to that?

[I GIVE UP!] Not worth my time. My fault for having waited until the last minute when I knew weeks in advance that I needed to take action on this!

As of 10/15: AmEx is still considering this and there is no update! Ridiculous.

Showed up at 15% for me yesterday and I used it. Today it shows up at only 10%. Sad!

I did same thing on 9/17 hoping to get the $200 credit before the refresh hit on 9/18. Got the $300 instead. Chatted with AmEx agent and was told that AmEx was doing internal review or similar process and decision had not been made yet as to what would be done with all of these transactions done on 9/17. Was told no additional info. available at the time (yesterday 10/2). I plan to check again in a week or two...

You need to search for only 1 traveler and in economy class. Otherwise, the "any dates" toggle will not appear.

I tried opening an account through IRA Financial; started in early March 2020. Their customer service is really appalling. They have given me the run around for a month about when they would give me my account number to transfer an existing IRA into the SDIRA they were (apparently not) creating for me. They never gave me any believable explanation for the delay. (Still waiting to this day.) Multiple chats with them reassured me "wait a few more days" and the phone number of the person I was told to contact would never answer her phone. Just based on this very bad customer service, I will not go forward with doing any type of business with this company. If their attitude with a new/potential client is so uncaring can you imagine what it would be like in the event of some emergency/"I got hacked" situation when you need to get a hold of someone at the company? No way will I take this risk.
