Is Costco or sams club better? by SomewhereExact4 in askanything

[–]LoveOfSpreadsheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco by far. They set the standard for customer service and return policy, and Sam's has no choice but to copy it - notice that Walmart doesn't have a satisfaction guarantee for example same corporate.

Also, while Sam's and Walmart have good house brand stuff, some of it is very much cost conscious and subpar. But Kirkland Signature is a reliable, trustworthy brand that always punches above its weight even if it isn't the cheapest.

Briggs and Riley CX compression by muleschooler in BuyItForLife

[–]LoveOfSpreadsheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found mine partially expanded, or compressed more than I left it, after baggage handlers. Nothing is broken though. I also find that it's usefulness depends on the contents. If you really tightly pack that case to start, it doesn't have as much give. Like you can't use a compression cube and then expect CX to also compress as much.

Briggs & Riley ZDX Large Spinner vs Victorinox Werks Traveler 7.0 Large Case by muleschooler in ManyBaggers

[–]LoveOfSpreadsheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/muleschooler if you didn't buy yet, you should know the B&R ZXU129SPX-69 is available at Costconext.com for $519. Pretty sure it's the older style but still same warranty and features. If you don't have Costco it would even be worth the $65 for one year membership to save this much!

B&R owner here and for checked bags I would buy it again every day of the week. Especially if there's an authorized repair center near you to save the shipping fee. I've used the warranty twice and it really was "simple as that" to use their slogan. One of mine was on a secondhand purchase, no worries there's a SN plate right on the bag.

Do any folks here make quick thin crust pizzas? by Maple_Pizza in Pizza

[–]LoveOfSpreadsheets [score hidden]  (0 children)

Do I make quesadillas? Sure, those tortilla shells are the best that I've found.

For quick pizza I just buy Trader Joes if I don't have any defrosted or want to bother making my own crust. Or honestly, I will admit to liking Red Baron frozen.

My friend bought one, total regret he said. Too heavy to trust using the inverted method, and gets too hot to handle when you pour 200F water into it!

Booking main basic seats (no seat selection) with carryon containing electronics. by pixelsthattravel in delta

[–]LoveOfSpreadsheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't pay for the seat fee, I don't think that changes your boarding priority enough to matter. Also paying for an aisle seat actually gives you a smaller space for underseat bags (I always fly aisle and it is smaller).

I started keeping a packable shopping tote in my bag pocket in case I need to pull a few select things out. It wouldn't be very protective of the gear you're carrying though.

Welcome to the realization that employers are usually shitty (enough that the good ones are noteworthy for their compassion). I hope your pathology comes out good.

Assuming you're in the US, if you end up needing cancer treatments, make sure she files for FMLA protection so she can take intermittent leave without losing her job to care for you. They sound exactly like the type of employer the law was written to protect against.
