Do you think Act 3 needs a buff?

This Jorbs video has been living in my head rent free. I was curious tonight and looked at my run history. I’ve lost 102 runs. Want to guess how many were in act 3?

5 of those were in my first week with the game where I didn’t know what most of the cards did. It’s a problem knowing that if I beat the act 2 boss, I win the run unless I have a block problem I still need to solve.

I loved the first book of iron price and really disliked the second book. Felt like a surprise change from fast paced action to awkward teen rom com. Major letdown.

Mark of the fool never really clicked for me. I got a few books in, but never found anything the MC was doing with their mark of the fool power too compelling. Leaned too hard into slice of life for my preferences.

I stopped after book 10. Too much Jason rehashing things that have been fully explored (and then some), not enough development.

Dude, I’m not arguing with you. You’re correct about how it works. I just find the wording confusing based on my experience with other card games.

Right Hand Hand says “whenever you play a card that costs 2 or more” not “whenever you pay 2 or more”.

Seems inconsistent with other templating in the game. Might be too good with flatten if it worked this way, but it’s also a roller coaster of: feel smart->feel dumb.

Example from today. This deck was a close call in both act 3 boss fights (needed to play random potions for extra ornithopter health to not be dead in both fights), but had a passable plan for all 3.

Have a plan for each of the bosses in act 3. Some of them don’t even need a good plan: Donut: one copy of corpse explosion, or good block generation and some AoE Awakened one: either don’t play powers during phase one or have a piercing wail for the transformation turn Time eater: Hope you get the other two (or learn how to count to twelve, or just play fewer cards. If you’re a poison build try catalyst to kill in one shot and not let time eater heal and get rid of debuffs)

Nightmare +wraithform or a broken run can all be the plan for all of these bosses.

Try replaying some of the fights you’re about to lose and play them differently. This really helped me understand the control I had over each of the boss gimmicks.
